20080243890AUTOMATED TWO AND THREE DIMENSIONAL TECHNICAL DATA PACKAGING - Production of two and three dimensional technical data packages is automated by a computer that receives and stores one or more customer defined data submittal rules for formatting a technical data package. The computer then executes one or more of the rules to create a linked set of output data files comprising the technical data package. The computer creates a hierarchical product data tree structure comprising one or more nodes and one or more product attribute data fields for each node. The computer creates the technical data package file by linking parts files together in accordance with the product data tree structure. The technical data package created by the computer may be compressed and sent electronically to the customer avoiding the requirement of using cumbersome technology such as aperture cards.10-02-2008

20090164530Concurrently Backing Up Data from Multiple Backup Servers in a Backup Storage Tier - Various embodiments of a system and method for backing up data from a plurality of backup server computers in a first backup storage tier to a backup server computer in a second backup storage tier are disclosed. According to one embodiment of the method, a group of backup data sources may be associated with a writer on the backup server computer. Each backup data source may comprise data to be backed up from one of the backup server computer systems in the first backup storage tier. The writer may keep track of the write speed at which data from the group of backup data sources is written to a target storage device, and the number of backup data sources in the group may be automatically adjusted based on the write speed.06-25-2009
20090172322Automatically Adjusting a Number of Backup Data Sources Concurrently Backed Up to a Storage Device on a Server Computer - Various embodiments of a system and method for backing up data to a backup server computer are disclosed. According to one embodiment of the method, a group of backup data sources may be associated with a writer module on the backup server computer. Each backup data source may comprise data to be backed up from one of a plurality of client computer systems. The writer module may write the data from each of the backup data sources in the group to a target storage device in order to concurrently backup each backup data source to the target storage device. The writer module may also keep track of the rate at which data is written to the target storage device. The number of backup data sources in the group may be automatically adjusted based on the write rate, e.g., in order to maximize throughput to the target storage device.07-02-2009

20120253926SELECTIVE DELIVERY OF CONTENT ITEMS - Systems, methods, and computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium for allocating a minimum number of impressions to a content item in order to satisfy a delivery goal for the content item during a certain period of time are described. In some implementations, a satisfaction index (SI) for each content item can be used. The SI is a metric that reflects the degree to which a content selection service is on pace to meet a delivery goal for a content item within some period. The SI can be used to compare the number of impressions that have been allocated to the content item thus far in a period to the delivery or allocation goal for the content item in the period. A content selection service may determine scores for impression allocations based on both an estimate of value and the SI for a candidate content item in order to balance the goals of meeting delivery goals and optimizing impression inventory value.10-04-2012
