20090043256Hyperthermia, system, method and components - An IV pole mountable, therapeutic infusate processing device is incorporated into a hypothermia system to receive therapeutic fluid(s), such as normal saline, peritioneal dialysis solution, or other crystalloid solution, to heat such therapeutic fluid(s) a few degrees centigrade above normal body temperature and to direct the resulting heated infusate to and through a selected anatomical portion of a patients body to raise the temperature of that body portion so as to affect any cancerous or other tumors that may be located therein. The processing device is provided with touch screen controls and visual indicators to facilitate its proper use; while the system further includes temperature and pressure sensors to monitor the hyperthermia processing to insure patient safety.02-12-2009
20090192446Pressure responsive fluid flow control valves - In one set of embodiments a selected section of tubular stock has its ends welded together to form a pillow-like pressure sensing device with an entry tube and an exit tube each configured to facilitate insertion of the pressure sensing device into the flow path of IV infusate in an IV administration set or system. Fluid pressure in excess of a predetermined amount reconfigures the pressure sensing device from a generally oval configuration to a generally circular configuration to restrict and/or cut off fluid flow into the device while permitting fluid flow from the device to reduce the fluid pressure again reconfiguring the device back to its generally oval configuration and permitting fluid flow into and through the device.07-30-2009

20110196302Cannula apparatus - A canister is fabricated with a tubular wall and with end caps at respective ends of the tubular wall to form an enclosed cannula. Perforations, or openings, extend through at least the tubular wall and one end cap of the canister to facilitate fluid flow into, through and out from the canister to facilitate use of the cannula for irrigation (lavage) and aspiration (suctioning) procedures A fluid port provides an entry and exit for fluid passing into, through and out from the canister. An additional opening is provided to facilitate positioning a thermo probe in the path of fluid flow through the cannula. The openings are preferably substantially rectangular in configuration with rounded corners and are disposed to provide fluid flow openings through approximately 14% of the surface area of the cannula.08-11-2011

20090211291EVAPORATIVE COOLER HAVING A NOVEL SUPPORT STRUCTURE - An evaporative cooler including a unique supporting structure is described herein. The evaporative cooler comprises a frame member including a base portion for coupling with a water reservoir and an elevated portion extending upwardly from the base portion. Panels of the cooler housing are formed separately from the frame. Media is mounted to an elevated portion of the frame member or to at least one of the cooler housing panels. A blower is mounted to and supported at least partially by the elevated portion of the frame member. The blower is positioned to receive air entering through an inlet opening defined by cooler housing and exhaust cooled air toward an outlet opening defined by the cooler housing.08-27-2009

20090211290EVAPORATIVE COOLER HAVING A NOVEL AIR FLOW PATTERN - An evaporative cooler and method of operating the evaporative cooler are described. The evaporative cooler comprises a reservoir configured to contain water, a frame, and panels. The panels together at least partially form a cooler housing and define an interior region of the cooler housing. The cooler housing has at least one inlet for the intake of ambient air and at least one outlet for the flow of cooled air out from the interior of the cooler housing. Media is positioned adjacent the at least one inlet such that the intake of ambient air passes through the media for heat exchange. A blower is positioned to receive air entering through the at least one inlet defined by the cooler housing and to exhaust cooled air toward the at least one outlet opening defined by the cooler housing.08-27-2009

20080208095Knee brace having a rigid frame and patellofemoral support - Embodiments of the knee brace disclosed herein provide a combination of external ligament support and/or relief from pain caused by osteoarthritis with patellofemoral support. The brace includes a rigid frame and a flexible strap configured to extend across the wearer's patella to provide anterior loading thereto. The strap is operatively secured at either end to components of the rigid frame, thereby providing maximum leverage for applying force to the wearer's patella. In some embodiments, the strap includes a removable and adjustable buttress for directly contacting the wearer's patella. The patellar strap provides dynamic loading to the patella through the wearer's range of motion for relief of patellofemoral dysfunction, such as patellar shift, subluxation and dislocation, and malalignments such as patella alta, patella baja, tilt and glide. In some embodiments, a conversion kit is provided for converting a rigid brace frame into a knee brace capable of providing patellofemoral support to a wearer's knee. The kit includes at least a patellar strap and at least one tab for securing the strap to the rigid frame.08-28-2008

20100086634LARGE PALLET MACHINE FOR FORMING MOLDED PRODUCTS - A concrete products forming machine including a main frame, feed drawers, die supports and mold and head assemblies. The feed drawer is moved into position over the mold using an electric belt drive system and includes a vibrating strike off plate to improve surface quality of the molded product, zoned agitators to control movement and placement of concrete, a spring loaded seal system between the walls and floor of the feed box, and quick-release agitator design with urethane sleeves to effect easy and clean removal, replacement and cleaning of the agitators. The concrete products forming machine includes torque tube and leaf spring supports to effect substantially vertical vibrational movement of the mold with air inflatable springs for controlled force between the mold bottom and the pallet. The pallet itself is vibrated from below using phased, counter rotating shafts coupled to the pallet table on which the pallet rests. Vibration induced into the pallet by the vibrating pallet table is transferred to the mold resulting in material compaction. After the molding process, the mold is lifted in a stripping process to remove the molded product for curing or drying.04-08-2010
