OPTICAL RECEIVER, OPTICAL AUDIO APPARATUS, OPTICAL COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND OPTICAL RECEPTION METHOD - An optical receiver with a threshold voltage convergence and audio apparatus and communication apparatus using the optical receiver are provided. The optical receiver of the present invention includes an optical detector for converting a received optical signal to a current signal; a transimpedance amplifier for converting the current signal to a voltage signal; a level shifter for converging the voltage signal to a threshold voltage by removing an offset of the voltage signal, the level shifter comprising a plurality of linear subtractors connected in series; a reference voltage generator for generating a reference voltage in proportion to a variation of the offset of the voltage signal; and a comparator for comparing the threshold voltage and the reference voltage and generating a digital signal of a logic level according to a comparison result. The optical receiver of the present invention can compensate the shortcomings of the automatic voltage gain control and automatic threshold control techniques and reduce system complexity, thereby minimizing pulse-width distortion with a compact and low power consumption design and reducing the manufacturing costs of high performance digital interfaces. | 08-28-2008

MOTOR DRIVER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROTECTING MOTOR DRIVER - A motor driver system includes an inverter configured to apply a three-phase voltage to a motor; an inverter driver configured to generate a reference voltage to the inverter to control a motor speed to follow a reference speed; and a motor protector configured to control the inverter driver so that a value of the reference voltage is equal to or lower than a predetermined voltage value. | 12-04-2008
MOTOR DRIVER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MOTOR DRIVER - A motor driver system and its control methods are discussed. Even when a command magnetic flux decreases as a motor operates in a field weakening region, a current angle can be maintained always below a limit value, thereby obtaining the stability of the motor control. | 12-04-2008
MOTOR DRIVING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROTECTING MOTOR DRIVER - A motor driver system includes an excess current sensing device configured to compensate a sensing value depending on a temperature of a motor, and to output the compensated sensing value, the sensing value being obtained from a current value associated with the motor; and a controller configured to stop the motor when the compensated sensing value exceeds a preset excess value. | 07-23-2009
MOTOR AND METHOD FOR STARTING THE SAME - The method for initially starting the motor improves the reliability to the start of the motor. In particular, even though the external load is at more than a predetermined level, a rotor located at an arbitrary angle can be aligned to an accurate initial position. Moreover, it can prevent the damage of the motor or the damage of the electronic device where the motor is installed. In order to initially align the rotor of the motor, a position on a stationary coordinate system, to which an alignment current of a rotation magnetic field is applied, is varied. | 08-06-2009

Plasma processing apparatus and method - The plasma processing apparatus for processing a semiconductor substrate using plasma and a method thereof can maintain a steady state simultaneously while maximizing a plasma electron density. The plasma processing apparatus includes: a chamber which generates plasma to process a semiconductor substrate; upper and lower electrodes arranged in the chamber; a DC power-supply unit which applies a DC voltage to either one of the upper and lower electrodes; and a controller which adjusts a power ratio of the DC voltage applied from the DC power-supply unit to either one of the upper and lower electrodes. As a result, the apparatus certainly confines electrons, so that the electrodes are not emitted from the plasma, resulting in a maximized plasma electron density. | 12-25-2008
