SPEECH-DRIVEN SELECTION OF AN AUDIO FILE - A system and method for detecting a refrain in an audio file having vocal components. The method and system includes generating a phonetic transcription of a portion of the audio file, analyzing the phonetic transcription and identifying a vocal segment in the generated phonetic transcription that is repeated frequently. The method and system further relate to the speech-driven selection based on similarity of detected refrain and user input. | 02-10-2011

Method and Apparatus for the Continuous Controlled Discharge of Solids - It is known that poorly-flowing solid materials can lead to an inhomogeneous mass flow of the solid across the discharge cross-section of a silo. If the solid in the silo is also heated or cooled the uneven mass flow can lead, for example, to local variations in temperature and/or hence to varying product properties. According to the invention, the above problem may be resolved, whereby a method and a discharge device for a solids silo and a solids silo are disclosed, permitting a controllable solids discharge evenly across the cross-section of the silo. The cross-section of the silo discharge is divided into several, preferably equivalent, partial cross-sections to which a continuously controllable discharge device is connected. The solid flow discharged from the controllable discharge devices can be collected on a continuous conveyor arranged therebelow and removed. The even solid mass discharge from the continuous discharge devices is controlled, depending on measured signals from several equivalent sensors, recording the local mass flow in the corresponding partial sections of the silo, by means of the conveyor power of the discharge device, relating to each sensor. Where electrically-conducting solids are used which are to be heated in the silo using electrodes by means of resistance heating, the control of the discharge devices is achieved with the measured current at the electrodes. | 10-09-2008
Method for a continuous dry milling operation of a vertical grinding mill and vertical grinding mill - The invention relates to a vertical grinding mill comprising a closed vertical milling container in which a screw conveyor is arranged for rotary drive so as to convey grinding bodies to the top. The package of grinding bodies adjusts itself during operation such that the surface thereof is configured to slope radially outwards and downwards and to end in the region of the bottom edge of an outlet for grinding stock. Gas is introduced into the milling container above the package of grinding bodies. The gas and grinding stock are discharged from the milling container via the outlet for grinding stock. | 04-29-2010
Mixing Device Having Induction Heating - The present invention concerns a mixing device having a preferably rotating container for accommodating material to be mixed, at least one mixing tool arranged in the interior of the container and a heating device for heating the material to be mixed. | 05-19-2011
METHOD FOR A CONTINUOUS DRY MILLING OPERATION OF A VERTICAL GRINDING MILL AND VERTICAL GRINDING MILL - A vertical grinding mill is provided including a closed vertical milling container in which a screw conveyor is arranged for rotary drive so as to convey grinding bodies to the top. The package of grinding bodies adjusts itself during operation such that the surface thereof is configured to slope radially outwards and downwards and to end in the region of the bottom edge of an outlet for grinding stock. | 20110223309 | METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CREMA PRODUCTION BASED ON VOLUMETRIC FLOW - A method for producing crema in a coffee vending machine that has a flow-through heater for heating water and that is charged with substrate capsules which include a Venturi nozzle for crema production. The method includes a) heating the water in the flow-through heater; b) brewing ground coffee using the heated water in a brewing chamber in order to produce a coffee drink; and c) producing crema by mixing the coffee drink with a gas in the Venturi nozzle. In step c), at least one of two volumetric flows of the coffee drink or the gas is increased in the Venturi nozzle during a predetermined time interval. | 09-15-2011
