In some embodiments, the electronic device may include at least one array of pixels and a memory coupled to the at least one array of pixels. The electronic device may further include a central processing unit (CPU) coupled to the memory and at least one color filter optically coupled to the at least one array of pixels. The memory may further include one or more storage locations that include a response of the at least one color filter to one or more predetermined wavelengths from a target test source, as well as, one or more storage locations that include a response of one or more baseline color filters.11-05-2009
20100073499IMAGE CAPTURE USING SEPARATE LUMINANCE AND CHROMINANCE SENSORS - Systems and methods are provided for capturing images using an image sensing device. In one embodiment, an image sensing device may include a first lens train for sensing a first image and a second lens train for sensing a second image. The image sensing device may also include a first image sensor for capturing the luminance portion of the first image and a second image sensor for capturing the chrominance portion of the second image. The image sensing device may also include an image processing module for combining the luminance portion captured by the first image sensor and the chrominance portion captured by the second image sensor to form a composite image.03-25-2010
20100079884DICHROIC APERTURE FOR ELECTRONIC IMAGING DEVICE - A dichroic filter that for use with an electronic imaging device, such as a camera. The dichroic filter is located in the main imaging lens, and may permit all light to pass through a first portion and be measured by a photosensor, while restricting at least some portions of visible light from passing through a second portion thereof. In this manner, only the non-restricted portions of visible light passing through the second portion may be measured by the associated pixels of the photosensor. The filter may be formed from a first aperture permitting a first set of wavelengths to pass therethrough and a second aperture adjacent the first aperture, the second aperture permitting only a subset of the first set of wavelengths to pass therethrough. The second aperture may be a dichroic mirror or it may be an optical filter of some other type.04-01-2010

20110116017SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLING THE VIEWING ANGLE OF A DISPLAY - Systems and methods for electronically controlling the viewing angle of a display using liquid crystal optical elements are provided. Each liquid crystal optical element may be associated with a respective scattering module and may selectively steer a device generated light beam to one of two or more scattering regions of its associated scattering module. When a scattering region receives a steered light beam, the steered light beam may be scattered into a viewing cone having at least one viewing angle defined by a characteristic of that scatter region. Each liquid crystal optical element may be made from one or more suitable liquid crystal materials that can be controlled electronically to vary the effective index of refraction of one or more different regions of the liquid crystal optical element, thereby steering incoming light towards a particular one of two or more scattering regions of an associated scattering module.05-19-2011

20090260157Mat - A foldable, portable exercise mat is disclosed. The mat is generally circular in shape when in the working position and is foldable to a generally rectangular shape when in the transport position. The exemplary embodiment of the mat includes a first side and a second side. The exemplary embodiment of the mat includes load-bearing strips strategically positioned on the first side to support the mat when it is in the transport position. Load-bearing strips may also be positioned around the perimeter of an integrated pocket to reduce the wear on the main body of the mat. Strap loops, gripping surfaces, affixing straps, and zippered pockets may also be affixed to either the first or second side. Carry straps may be engaged with strap loops to ease transportation of the mat. In a second embodiment of the mat, the mat may be folded into a backpack in the transport position.10-22-2009

20110300336METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR APPLYING STRIPS TO SURFACES - A method of applying a strip to a surface is disclosed. The strip is laid out spaced apart from a path guide. The path guide is referenced with least two longitudinally spaced apart reference guides to guide an applicator transversely spaced from the reference guides over the strip. The strip is lifted upstream of the applicator with a strip guide longitudinally spaced from the applicator to space the strip from the surface. Heat is applied to at least one of the strip or the surface in a location longitudinally between the applicator and the strip guide. The applicator is moved along the strip to apply pressure to the strip against the surface to bond the strip to the surface. A related apparatus for applying a strip to a surface is also disclosed.12-08-2011
