20100230260WIRING STANDARD SELECTOR SWITCH AND UNIVERSAL NETWORK CABLE - A wiring standard selector switch for use in a universal network cable system includes a baseboard made of an insulating material and a cover shaped and dimensioned to be connected to the baseboard. A switch actuator is mounted beneath the cover and has a portion which extends through a slot formed in the cover and is movable slidably along the slot of the cover. A plurality of circuit conductors carried by the switch actuator are disposed on the switch actuator so as to achieve paired electrical contact between a first and a second set of contact members on the baseboard. By moving the switch actuator slidably along the slot of the cover, at predetermined space intervals, the first and second sets of contact members engage the plurality of circuit conductors so as to establish a different complete circuit. Each of the different complete circuits corresponds to a different network wiring standard.09-16-2010
20100233890WIRING STANDARD SELECTOR SWITCH - A wiring standard selector switch is used in a wired computer network and has the ability to easily switch between various network wiring standards, such as, for example, Rolled, ATM loopback, T1, Cross-over, and Straight-through. Rotating the switching collar causes the printed circuit board containing a wiring standard printed circuit to change the input/output relationship of the individual wires in the input and output network cables.09-16-2010

20110001475Methods for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measurements using long-lived states - A method for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measurements, includes creation of enhanced polarization of nuclei of a first kind within a sample in a magnetic field at cryogenic temperatures and transfer of the polarised sample to room temperature. The enhanced polarization of nuclei of the first kind is thereby transformed into long-lived states (LLS) of nuclei of a second kind and these LLS are sustained. The LLS is at least partially converted into observable magnetisation and an NMR or MRI measurement is carried out. The method allows one to extend the time needed between hyperpolarised magnetisation and NMR detection.01-06-2011
20110001477Method for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy measurements using long-lived coherences (LLC) - A method for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy of a sample comprises preparation of the sample and carrying out an NMR spectroscopy measurement. Preparation includes excitation of long lived coherences (LLC) between the singlet state S01-06-2011
20110175611Method for NMR spectroscopy or MRI measurements using dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) with scavenging of free radicals - A method for sample preparation for magnetic resonance measurements using Hyperpolarization by Dissolution Dynamic Nuclear Polarization, involves preparation of frozen beads of a first kind containing paramagnetic substances in addition to the solute under investigation; insertion of the frozen beads into a polarizing magnet; creation of enhanced polarization of nuclei in a magnetic field; heating of the sample to room temperature; transfer of the sample to an MR magnet; and carrying out an MR measurement. In addition, frozen beads of a second kind containing a reducing agent are prepared and inserted into the polarization magnet together with the frozen beads of the first kind. By this method, longitudinal and transverse relaxation times in NMR are extended and free radicals in hyperpolarized solutions are eliminated.07-21-2011
20120098537High Resolution Nuclear Magnet Resonance with Unknown Spatiotemporal Variations of the Static Magnetic Field - The invention relates to nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). NMR experiments are usually carried out in homogeneous magnetic fields. In many cases however, the inherent heterogeneity of the samples or living organisms under investigation, and the poor homogeneity of the magnets (particularly when bulky samples must be placed outside their bores), make it virtually impossible to obtain high-resolution spectra. Unstable power supplies and vibrations arising from cooling can lead to field fluctuations in time as well as space. Here it is shown how high-resolution NMR spectra can be obtained in inhomogeneous fields with unknown spatiotemporal variations. The method of the invention, based on coherence transfer between spins, can accommodate spatial inhomogeneities of at least 11 G/cm and temporal fluctuations slower than 2 Hz.04-26-2012

20090174003DUAL WORK FUNCTION DEVICE WITH STRESSOR LAYER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME - A method for manufacturing a dual work function semiconductor device is disclosed. In one aspect, the method relates to providing a substrate with a first and a second region. A gate dielectric is formed overlying the first and the second region. A metal gate layer is formed overlying the gate dielectric on the first and the second region. The metal gate layer has a first (as-deposited) work function that can be modified upon inducing strain thereon. The method further relates to selecting a first strain which induces a first pre-determined work function shift (ΔWF1) in the first (as-deposited) work function of the metal gate layer on the first region and selectively forming a first strained conductive layer overlying the metal gate layer on the first region, the first strained conductive layer exerting the selected first strain on the metal gate layer.07-09-2009
20100327316Method for Manufacturing an III-V Engineered Substrate and the III-V Engineered Substrate Thereof - Manufacturing an III-V engineered substrate involves providing a base substrate comprising an upper layer made of a first III-V compound with a <110> or a <111> crystal orientation, forming an intermediate layer comprising at least a buffer layer of a second III-V compound, wherein the intermediate layer is overlying and in contact with the upper layer of the base substrate. Then a pseudomorphic passivation layer made of a group IV semiconductor material is grown so as to be overlying and in contact with the intermediate layer. This can enable an unpinned interface. The substrate surface can be smoother, implying fewer problems from surface stress. It can be used in electronic devices such as metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs), high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs), tunneling field effect transistors (TFETs), and optoelectronic devices.12-30-2010

20110017140METHOD OF TREATING A GAS STREAM - A method is described of treating a gas stream exhausted from an atomic layer deposition (ALD) process chamber to which two or more gaseous precursors are alternately supplied. Between the process chamber and a vacuum pump used to draw the gas stream from the chamber, the gas stream is conveyed to a gas mixing chamber, to which a reactant is supplied for reacting with one of the gaseous precursors to form solid material. The gas stream is then conveyed to a cyclone separator to separate solid material from the gas stream. By deliberately reacting a non-reacted precursor to form solid material upstream from the pump, reaction within the pump of the non-reacted precursor and a second non-reacted precursor subsequently drawn from the chamber by the pump can be inhibited.01-27-2011
