20090049725Display device - A display device includes a back-board type member and a support mechanism engageable thereto. A plurality of mounting rails are releasably securable to such back-board type member on at least one of a front side, a back side, and a combination thereof such that each rail runs at least one of side to side and top to bottom across such back-board type member. A securing mechanism has a first portion engageable with such back-board type member and a second portion engageable with such plurality of mounting rails for releasably securing such mounting rails to such back-board type member such that at least a predetermined portion of at least one predetermined item may at least one of sit on at least a portion of at least one of such mounting rails, releasably slide behind at least a portion of at least one of such mounting rails and a combination thereof.02-26-2009

20080316567Illumination Source and Method Therefor - An illumination source and a method therefor. A light source includes a light circuit configured to process light and direct light, and a lighting element optically coupled to the light circuit to provide multiple colors of light. The light circuit propagates light using light guides. The use of light guides eliminates the use of free space optical elements, enabling the creation of more compact light sources. Furthermore, the use of light guides may enable the creation of light sources with fewer mechanical restrictions, thereby making the light sources potentially more reliable and less expensive.12-25-2008
20090122278NON-SPECULAR FOLDING MIRROR AND A SYSTEM OF USING THE SAME - A non-specular reflective optical element comprises a reflective surface. A beam of incident light can be reflected such that the reflective angle may or may not be the same as the incident angle. In an exemplary application of a rear projection system, the non-specular folding mirror is used to project the modulated light from a light valve onto a translucent screen.05-14-2009

20100182019Method and apparatus for determining soil water content - This invention is concerned with a method and apparatus to measure soil water content. A sensor electrode assembly comprised of a sensor electrode fixed to a spherical shape is implanted in undisturbed soil at the bottom of a low narrow hole in the soil under evaluation. A second electrode is implanted in adjacent soil. Water is adsorbed on the surface of the sensor electrode in proportion to the water in the soil. Electrical charge layers are present at the sensor electrode/water interface due to dissolved oxygen in the adsorbed water. These charge layers result in an interfacial capacitance whose magnitude varies with the amount of water in the soil. Under the assumption that the capacitance of the second electrode/adjacent soil interface is constant, the change in capacitance across the two wires connected to the two electrodes give a measure of the change in soil water content. Energy flow during this measurement is unidirectional, that is, from the interfacial capacitance to the measuring device.07-22-2010
