20080303436Method for pattern metalization of substrates - A method for forming an adhesion layer in contact with a first surface of a substrate and a surface of a layer having electrically conductive properties using electrophotographic imaging compound as a mask is provided. The adhesion layer improves the lamination properties of the electrically conductive layer to the substrate. The improved lamination properties to facilitate and increase the reliability and quality of a resulting product having an electronic circuit formed in accordance with the present invention. The method disclosed herein is well suited for use with rigid polymeric substrates and flexible polymeric substrates.12-11-2008
20080303637Updateable electronic-ink based display label device - An updateable electronic-ink based display label device for attachment to an object to be tracked. The device includes (i) an addressable display assembly including a layer of electronic ink, (ii) an antenna structure, (iii) an interface module, and (iv) a signal transceiver module. The signal transceiver module is responsive to electromagnetic data signals received from a remote communication module, and the addressable display assembly is responsive to output signals generated by the interface module, to display the determined graphical indicia. The antenna structure, the interface module, the signal transceiver module, and the antenna structure are arranged and stacked together to form the updateable electronic-ink based display label device.12-11-2008

20080198098Electronic sign - An electronic sign employs a bi-stable, non-volatile display material activatable by electrodes to convey information. A sensor detects when the electronic sign is inserted in or in the vicinity of an insertion area, and controls the operation of the sign based on the detected location. A backplane in the electronic sign includes different patterns of addressable elements to provide a display that pixel, font region, or icon addressable or have a combination of one or more of the pixel, font region, or icon addressability. A remote device communicates with the electronic sign, and multiple electronic signs may communicate with each other via a communication protocol, such as mesh networking.08-21-2008

20080232272EXTENSIBLE MICRO-MOBILITY WIRELESS NETWORK ARCHITECTURE - A network having an access service network (“ASN”) configured to provide full mobility to mobile stations located within a service area. The ASN includes a Layer 2 or data link layer network that is larger, incorporates more nodes, or carries more data communications than Layer 2 networks incorporated in prior art ASNs. Data communications to and from the mobile stations are routed inside the ASN across the Layer 2 network which transports the data communication using a Layer 2 protocol. If the network includes another ASN located adjacent to the first ASN, the two ASNs may communicate directly with one another over a Layer 2 connection. If the network includes another ASN that is not adjacent to the first, Mobile Internet Protocol components may be included in the ASNs and configured to provide mobility between ASNs.09-25-2008
20080240032SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONDENSED FREQUENCY REUSE IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A legacy spectrum allocation results in inefficient use of the spectrum now allocated to broadband services. A broadband wireless OFDMA communication system allocates channels with overlap between adjacent channels to make more efficient use of the allocated spectrum. Guard tones are eliminated to reduce channel bandwidth requirements leaving a smaller bandwidth overlap. Interference mitigation procedures are used to reduce adjacent channel interference.10-02-2008
20080318585SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CELL PLANNING IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK - A cellular network having a plurality of mobile stations and a plurality of cells. Each cell is configured to provide communication services to the plurality of mobile stations using at least two overlapping channels. Each cell includes a base station configured to provide communication services using at least four channels, which include the overlapping channels, within a service area divided into three or four sectors. The service area may be hexagonal or square shaped. A first pair of the four channels has an overlapping portion. A second pair of the four channels, the channels of the second pair being different channels than those of the first pair, may also have an overlapping portion. The four channels may each comprise a portion of an Educational Broadband Service/Broadcast Radio Services band. The first and second pairs of channels may be nonadjacent to one another.12-25-2008
20090042537SUBSCRIBER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR A COMMUNICATION NETWORK - A subscriber management system for a communication system having a radio access network coupled to by a gateway node to a packet switched network. The system consolidates three prior art subscriber management system components, a DPI device, a QoS Policy Manager 02-12-2009
20090238135SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING VOICE OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL QUALITY OF SERVICE SUPPORT IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK - A system for providing Quality of Service (QoS) for voice over internet protocol (VoIP) provides a remote station with the address of an SIP proxy server. The initiates a VoIP service flow by sending an Invite to the proxy server via a bay station. If the service flow is authorized, the remote station transmits a request to the base station to establish a service flow having a selected QoS. The proxy server also provides a dynamic address for a voice gateway. Once the service flow is established, the remote station transmits RTP packets to the designated voice gateway using the service flow having the designated QoS level.09-24-2009
