20080280369COMPOSITIONS FOR DETECTION AND ANALYSIS OF POLYNUCLEOTIDES USING LIGHT HARVESTING MULTICHROMOPHORES - Methods, compositions and articles of manufacture for assaying a sample for a target polynucleotide are provided. A sample suspected of containing the target polynucleotide is contacted with a polycationic multichromophore and a sensor PNA complementary to the target polynucleotide. The sensor PNA comprises a signaling chromophore to absorb energy from the excited multichromophore and emit light in the presence of the target polynucleotide. The methods can be used in multiplex form. Kits comprising reagents for performing such methods are also provided.11-13-2008
20080293164Fluorescent Methods and Materials for Directed Biomarker Signal Amplification - Methods and compositions are provided that include a multichromophore and/or multichromophore complex for identifying a target biomolecule. A sensor biomolecule, for example, an antibody can be covalently linked to the multichromophore. Additionally, a signaling chromophore can be covalently linked to the multichromophore. The arrangement is such that the signaling chromophore is capable of receiving energy from the multichromophore upon excitation of the multichromophore. Since the sensor biomolecule is capable of interacting with the target biomolecule, the multichromophore and/or multichromophore complex can provide enhanced detection signals for a target biomolecule.11-27-2008

20110204178SPOT LEADING TARGET LASER GUIDANCE FOR ENGAGING MOVING TARGETS - A laser lead designator for guiding a laser guided weapon (LGW) to strike a moving target includes a laser source for providing a laser beam and a controller coupled to receive a position and a velocity of the moving target. The controller provides a control signal for pointing the laser beam a specified lead distance ahead of the position of the moving target to position a laser spot on a ground location ahead of the moving target. The lead distance compensates for an impact shortfall value that is a function of at least one shortfall parameter including a speed of the moving target so that the LGW shortfalls the laser spot on the moving target. The laser designator is separate from the LGW.08-25-2011

20090301495NASAL CONTINUOUS POSITIVE AIRWAY PRESSURE DEVICE AND SYSTEM - An nCPAP device including a generator body defining first and second fluid flow circuits each including a tube and first and second nozzles. The tube defines a passageway forming an axial centerline. The first and second nozzles are associated with the tube and each defines an inlet and an outlet. The inlets are open to a fluid supply, whereas the outlets are open to the passageway. Each nozzle is adapted to emit a fluid jetstream from the outlet along a flow direction axis. The nozzles are arranged such that the flow direction axes are non-parallel relative to each other and relative to the axial centerline. This configuration readily induces vortex shedding during an expiratory phase, thus facilitating jet fluid flow disruption and reducing a patient's work of breathing.12-10-2009
20100307011COMBINATION BLOWER, TRIMMER AND EDGER FOR TENDING VEGETATION - An engine is connected to the upper end of a drive shaft housing and a work head with a string trimmer or blower or both is operatively connected to the lower end of the drive shaft housing and is rotatably driven by an engine rotating a drive shaft inside the drive shaft housing and connected to the working head. The drive shaft housing is rigidly connected to the working head and may be rotated about its longitudinal axis relative to the engine in any desired amount of rotation, but the preferred degree of rotation is 135° to move the working head from a trimming position with the rotating trimmer string in a horizontal position to an edging position with the rotating trimmer string in a vertical position and with the working head being displaced to the operator's right side for better viewing and control and operator comfort. In one embodiment, a gear driven crank handle is rigidly connected to the drive shaft housing and is itself rotated 135° as the drive shaft housing is rotated 135° to place the handle in a position that is comfortable to use. Further, the amount of air flowing through the blower is regulated by an air outlet regulating valve and a separate air intake regulating valve.12-09-2010

20090173486GAS ENGINE DRIVEN HEAT PUMP SYSTEM WITH INTEGRATED HEAT RECOVERY AND ENERGY SAVING SUBSYSTEMS - A gas heat pump system powered by natural gas, propane or similar gaseous fuel is disclosed. The system uses heat recovery and heat addition to manage efficient heating and cooling cycles. In a cooling cycle excess heat is vented to the atmosphere while in a heating cycle, excess heat is used to heat a subject structure and to prevent frost from forming on outdoor heat exchangers. A control system monitors the system's operation and corrects abnormal operational conditions or shuts down the system until the system can be manually inspected. The costs of system operation are less than electric systems because of the efficiencies and use of natural gas or propane.07-09-2009

20090207844MINIMAL DECODING METHOD FOR SPATIALLY MULTIPLEXING DIGITAL VIDEO PICTURES - Multiple video picture frames are combined into a spatial multiplex video picture frame that may be fully decoded and displayed. The video display of the spatial multiplex video picture frame is a composite combination of all of the video picture frames that have been combined, and may have an appearance such as a mosaic. Multiplexing the video picture frames involves removing picture headers, creating a picture header for the spatial multiplex video picture frame, and altering the headers of individual components of each video picture frame. The new header for the spatial multiplex video picture frame indicates a slice format frame, and headers of the individual components are altered to provide a slice format based picture position for each video picture frame. The headers of the individual components are altered to become slice based, such as in accordance with the ITU-T H.263 video standard, prior to establishing the slice based picture position if the frames are not already of the slice format.08-20-2009
