20080294642REMOTE SERVICE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FUNCTIONALLY CONSTRAINED DATA PROCESSING DEVICES - The subject application is directed to a system and method for a system and method for providing remote service to functionally constrained data processing devices. A server first receives feature identification data representing available services requested from each of a plurality of data processing devices. Instructions corresponding to each of the available services is then stored in association with the server. The feature identification data is then tested so as to determine whether the feature is available locally or requires access to an associated data repository, such as the Internet. The instructions associated with each received feature identification data are then processed so as to complete a corresponding service. The associated repository is then accessed when the result of the testing indicates that the feature is not available locally. Thereafter, result data associated with each requested service is then communicated to the data processing device associated with the service request.11-27-2008
20100046009SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DOCUMENT PROCESSING HAVING PEER DEVICE DISCOVERY AND JOB ROUTING - The subject application is directed to a document processing device, system, and method having peer device feature discovery and job routing. Electronic document data is received from an associated document processing device, which electronic document data includes data corresponding to an electronic document and instruction data corresponding to a desired document processing operation associated with the document. Data corresponding to available features of the document processing device is compared relative to received instruction data. A prompt is generated to a second document processing device based upon the output of the comparison indicating that the document processing device has insufficient capabilities for performing the desired operation. Response data is received from the second device corresponding to capabilities of the second document processing device relative to the desired operation, and the electronic document data is routed to the second device in accordance with received response data.02-25-2010
20100088022SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING A ROUTE-OPTIMIZED BUSINESS LOCATOR - The subject application is directed to a route-optimized commercial business locator system and method. Location data is first received corresponding to a location of each of a plurality of alternative business locations. Routing data is then received corresponding to a desired travel route of an associated user. Location data of each of the alternative business locations is then compared to the routing data. Distance data is then generated corresponding to the distance of each of the locations from the desired travel route based upon the output of the comparison. A display is then generated corresponding to each of the business locations and their associated distance data.04-08-2010
20110167355METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING USERS LOGIN ACCESS TO MULTIPLE DEVICES VIA A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - Multiple user, multiple login access to electronic devices in a communication system is provided. In response to user login requests, login access is controlled by providing multiple users login access to plural electronic devices capable of communicating via the communication system. Each electronic device allows multiple users to be logged on or logged off the electronic device concurrently. User profiles and activity are shared between the plural electronic devices.07-07-2011

20080306902SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRACKING PRINT JOB STATUS - A system and method to track and display the status of an electronic document submitted through a web-portal to a multifunctional peripheral device. The multifunctional peripheral device receives an electronic document file upon which it is to perform a service and logs the receipt in a central status database. During the processing of the electronic document file, the multifunctional peripheral device continually updates the status information corresponding to that file in the central status database. Through a web-portal, a user selects from a list of recently submitted document files one file for which status information is desired. The multifunctional peripheral device then accesses the central status database, retrieves the file, and displays, via the web-portal, detailed document and status information corresponding to the selected document file.12-11-2008
20090070427SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DEVICE-DIRECTED PROCESSING OF REMOTE DESKTOP DOCUMENTS - The subject application is directed to a system and method for device-directed processing of remote desktop documents. A controller functionally integrated with a document processing device is first connected with remote workstations via a computer network. An electronic document is received from one of the workstations having an associated document identifier. Identification data is then received from an associated user via a user interface associated with the controller. A received electronic document is associated with the received identification data according to the associated identifier. A workstation is then identified based upon such association. Active document data is then received representing active electronic documents on each of the workstations. Indicia is generated on a display associated with the user interface corresponding to the received active document data. Selection data is received corresponding to a selected electronic document. A document processing operation is then commenced according to the received selection data.03-12-2009
20090070519SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SECURE DOCUMENT PROCESSING USING REMOVABLE DATA STORAGE - The subject application is directed to a system and method for secure document processing. A removable storage, such as a flash drive, magnetic storage, IC card, is installed in document processing device. A selected document processing operation, such as copying, scanning, and the like, is then performed. Data files resultant from the selected document processing operations are directed to the removable storage for being stored temporary, instead of being sent to the storage inherent to the document processing device. Data files temporary stored in the removable storage are then deleted.03-12-2009
20100306640SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING FORMATTED DEVICE REPORTS FROM STORED HIERARCHICAL DEVICE DATA - The subject application is directed to a system and method for generating formatted device reports from stored hierarchical device data. Electronic template data including a text data portion and a plurality of placeholder tags is received, wherein each placeholder tag includes data corresponding to a path in an associated, hierarchical data source corresponding to device characteristics of an associated multifunction peripheral device. Updated device data for the associated multifunction peripheral device is received into the hierarchical data source. Device data corresponding to each placeholder tag is retrieved and merged data into positions of the electronic template data in accordance with each corresponding placeholder tag so as to generate a formatted device report therefrom. A formatted device report is communicated to an associated administrator of the multifunction peripheral device.12-02-2010
20100332781Secure Document Processing Using Removable Data Storage - The subject application is directed to a system and method for secure document processing. Data files temporary stored in the removable storage are then deleted.12-30-2010
