Cutting Tooth for Brush Cutting - A cutting tooth is used on a brush cutter head. The cutting tooth includes a cutting portion having a first face and a second face. The first face and the second face cooperate to define a tapering profile terminating in a cutting edge. The first face of the cutting portion carries a plurality of ridges formed thereon to direct cutting debris away from the cutting edge and facilitate passage of the debris along the trailing face when the cutting tooth is in use. | 12-04-2008
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR BRUSH CUTTING AND BALING WOOD CHIPS FORMED DURING LAND CLEARING ACTIVITIES - The present invention relates generally to brush cutters and baling machines and methods of operation therefor, and more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for brush cutting and baling wood chips formed during land clearing activities. The apparatus includes a vehicle having front and rear ends. A brush cutter is carried at the front end of the vehicle. The brush cutter has a housing and a brush cutting head mounted for rotation within the housing. The brush cutting head has a support body and a plurality of cutting teeth mounted thereon. The cutting teeth are capable of reducing brush to wood chips and cutting debris when the brush cutting head is actuated. The brush cutting head is operable to take up at least some of the wood chips and cutting debris into the brush cutter housing while the cutting teeth are reducing brush to wood chips and cutting debris. The apparatus is further provided with a bale forming apparatus coupled for towage to the rear end of the vehicle. The bale forming apparatus is operable to form bales of wood chips. A plurality of conveyor assemblies is carried on the brush cutting and bale forming apparatus for transporting the wood chips from the brush cutter housing to the bale forming apparatus. | 12-01-2011

Diaphragm for full range boxless rotary loudspeaker driver - The design of a diaphragm for a rotary loudspeaker driver that all but eliminates phase cancellation and therefore eliminates the necessity of a box to acoustically isolate the front sound from the back. The key element of the design of the diaphragm is to use a cross section of at least three equal sides. This allows for the long sides of the diaphragm to create essentially positive pressure only as it rotates and creates a very rigid structure. Further by sizing the cross section to the width of the highest frequency to be produced you allow for a nearly perfect 360 degree radiation at all frequencies. | 02-05-2009

Heat Exchanger - A heat exchanger suitable for long term use in the unfiltered hot exhaust gas of an aluminum smelter is disclosed. In one embodiment, the heat exchanger comprises fluid carrying tubes connected together with web members to form a cylindrical shell. A header located at each end of the cylindrical shell is provided for feeding fluid to and from the tubes of the heat exchanger. Shrouds can be placed over the headers to affect hot gas turbulence and help minimize scaling. The surfaces of the cylindrical shell, when in un-scrubbed exhaust gas of an aluminum smelter, will be in contact with particles and/or dust and possibly caustic fumes and, therefore, may be treated with a relevant slip coating selected, for example, from the Teflon family. | 12-11-2008

HYDRAULIC BOOM SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE - The hydraulic boom system can include a boom receiving a work platform; a fixed component fixedly mountable to the vehicle; a rotary component, rotatably mounted on the fixed component about a vertical axis; a pivotal component, pivotally mounted to the rotary component about a horizontal axis, and receiving the boom; a hydraulic power unit having an electric motor driven hydraulic pump; and an electrical cable connected to the electric motor, and connectable to an electrical power supply located at a fixed position relative to the vehicle. The hydraulic power unit can be made integral to the rotary component. A raising hydraulic cylinder can extend downwardly inside a spacing in the fixed component. The electrical cable can have a coiled portion housed in the fixed component and coiled around the vertical axis. | 08-12-2010
