20080261293Homogeneous method to prepare sperm DNA from sexual assault cases - The present invention provides a method for the isolation of sperm DNA from swabs taken from rape victims without having to perform a change in buffers. Non-sperm cells from the victim are digested with an enzyme and solubilized, and then in the same buffer an enzyme capable of digesting soluble DNA is added and the victim's DNA is degraded, leaving only the rapist's DNA intact. Since no change of buffer is needed, no centrifugation or filtration steps are needed. The inventive method has utility particularly in the forensic science field.10-23-2008
20100304378Method for Detecting or Quantifying a Truncating Mutation - The present invention discloses a new method for detecting or quantifying a truncating mutation of a target gene in a subject, said method relying on the in vitro compartmentalization of single genetic constructs in aqueous droplets of a water-in-oil emulsion.12-02-2010

20110015369Detection Of Truncation Mutations By Mass Spectrometry - This invention relates to the detection and analysis by mass spec of nascent proteins, and in particular truncated proteins, translated within cellular or cell-free translation systems. N-terminal and C-terminal epitopes introduced into these nascent proteins permit rapid and efficient isolation, as well as mass difference.01-20-2011

20090175522SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMAGE REGISTRATION - Certain embodiments of the present invention provide for a system and method for performing medical image registration. Pixel and voxel correspondences are formulated as energy minimization problems and are optimized with graph cuts. The method includes processing a first set of data and a second set of data using a graph cuts algorithm to determine a minimum value of an energy function. The energy function has a data term and a smoothness term. The method also includes performing registration for the first set of data and the second set of data based on the data term and the smoothness term of the energy function. The system includes a computer system for performing medical image registration. The computer system comprises a processor and a memory in communication with the processor. The memory includes program code executable by the processor for executing a medical image registration algorithm.07-09-2009
