20090076841RULES-BASED SOFTWARE AND METHODS FOR HEALTH CARE MEASUREMENT APPLICATIONS AND USES THEREOF - A rules based software user interface application and environment, comprising: a) a clinical quality measure library database schema, b) a clinical quality measure specification database schema, c) a rules library, d) a clinical business rule (CBR) editor, e) a key performance indicator (KPI) or clinical quality measure specification editor, f) a clinical quality runtime configuration module, g) a cost of care runtime configuration module and h) a runtime manager module and, in some embodiments, i) a measure testing module. In some embodiments, rules-based software applications comprise a component for delivery of clinical measure description libraries as a web or Internet application. In other embodiments, rules-based software applications comprise a component for measure testing which include a test data generator module which generates a test database with a known target measure result and an audit detail component for inspecting test results. In yet other embodiments, rules-based software applications comprise both a component for delivery of clinical measure description libraries as a web or Internet application and a measure testing component to support the development of measures. Methods of converting health-based input source data into measures of clinical quality or cost of care comprise: a) providing a source code application, b) providing a collection of source data that comprises health-related source data, and c) transforming the source data into at least one evidence-based care measure using the source code application. In some embodiments, contemplated care measures comprise quality of care measures, care of cost measures or combinations thereof.03-19-2009

20100166773THERAPEUTIC MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES THAT NEUTRALIZE BOTULINUM NEUROTOXINS - This invention provides antibodies that specifically bind to and typically neutralize botulinum neurotoxins (e.g., BoNT/A, BoNT/B, BoNT/E, etc.) and the epitopes bound by those antibodies. The antibodies and derivatives thereof and/or other antibodies that specifically bind to the neutralizing epitopes provided herein can be used to neutralize botulinum neurotoxin and are therefore also useful in the treatment of botulism.07-01-2010

20090171241SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR URINARY TRACT CELL COLLECTION, DIAGNOSIS, AND CHEMOTHERAPY - A system and method delivers and collects a wash medium into a lumen of the urinary tract system. Isolated saline delivery washes cells from a urethra that are collected for cancer diagnosis. BCG is delivered for local chemotherapy. The isolated delivery and collection is from a region bound by a distal occlusion and proximal occlusion. Inflatable balloons provide the occlusion and or a penis clamp may be used. The two balloons may telescope relative to each other. A balloon inflation lumen may collapse a valve membrane to occlude distal flow of infused fluid to only proximal of the balloon.07-02-2009
20090304654METHODS FOR ISOLATING ADIPOSE-DERIVED STEM CELLS AND THERAPEUTIC USE THEREOF - The application discloses adipose tissue-derived stem cells (ADSC) and related compositions and methods. ADSCs are useful for (i) production of insulin producing cells, (ii) treatment of diabetes, (iii) endothelial cell reconstitution, (iv) treatment of overactive bladder and urge incontinence, (v) prevention and treatment of bladder voiding dysfunction; (vi) treatment of neurogenic impotence such as that resulting from diabetes or after prostate cancer therapy; (vii) treatment of vasculogenic impotence, such as that resulting from hypertension, dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis and diabetes; (viii) the promotion of wound healing; (ix) reduction of skin wrinkling; and (x) hair growth.12-10-2009
20100130949Catheter drainage system - This invention provides systems and methods to collect biological fluids from a catheterized or intubated animal. Drainage tubes are provided that reduce fluid back pressure by avoiding the formation of dependent loops. Low aspect ratio collection receptacles are provided that rest on a flat surface to improve fluid flows and/or minimize back-pressures exerted by collected fluids.05-27-2010

20080233046Trefoil Factor 3 (Tff3) as a Target for Anti-Cancer Therapy - The present invention is directed to methods of treating and preventing cancer, such as cancer characterized by differential expression of trefoil factor 3 (TFF3). The methods include administering to a patient an agent that modulates TFF3 activity or expression. The present invention is further directed to reducing the physiological effects of TFF3 expression in cells, including inhibiting cell motility and resistance to apoptosis. Oligonucleotides and antibodies that can modulate expression or activity of TFF3 are also provided.09-25-2008
