20090019731SHOE WITH TRANSPARENT PANELS - A method for displaying content in a shoe system that includes a shoe having an upper includes the steps of: selecting a first region on the upper to display content and defining a first display area within the first region of the upper that permits an interior of the shoe to be visible therethrough and identifying a first area on an innerliner that is constructed to be worn on a foot inside the upper of the shoe; the first area being an area that is specifically selected in view of the location of the first display area such that when the innerliner is worn with the shoe, the first area is in registration with the first display area. The method also includes placing first content on the inner liner in the first area such that the first content is displayed area when the innerliner is worn with the shoe, thereby allowing the shoe to have different, customizable appearances depending upon the content.01-22-2009
20110119963SHOE WITH TRANSPARENT PANELS - In accordance with one embodiment, a shoe includes a sole and an upper attached to the sole. The upper has a first transparent window formed therein, with the first window being completely contained within the upper such that material that forms the upper completely surrounds the first window. The first window permits an interior of the shoe to be visible.05-26-2011

20090169628ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR FOCUSED DELIVERY OF THERAPEUTIC AND/OR DIAGNOSTIC MATERIALS - A microfiber extrudate and delivery process includes a bio-compatible polymer matrix forming a body of the microfiber extrudate, an exogenously excitable material arranged within the body, and an active load arranged within the body.07-02-2009
20100078848SPINNERET AND METHOD OF SPINNING FIBER - Disclosed is a spinneret and a method of spinning. The spinneret includes a first pore configured for extruding a first component of a multi-component fiber, a second pore configured for extruding a second component of the multi-component fiber, and a thermal insulator positioned between the first pore and the second pore and configured for preventing heat from the first component from damaging the second component. The first component and the second component have incompatible thermal resistance.04-01-2010
20100291214THREE-DIMENSIONAL MICROFIBER EXTRUDATE STRUCTURE AND PROCESS FOR FORMING THREE-DIMENSIONAL MICROFIBER EXTRUDATE STRUCTURE - Disclosed is a three-dimensional microfiber extrudate structure and a process of forming a three-dimensional microfiber extrudate structure. The three-dimensional microfiber extrudate structure includes a matrix having a three-dimensional geometry wherein the three-dimensional geometry is a visco-elastic relaxation state of a preform introduced to a medium.11-18-2010
20100291384FIBER HAVING NON-UNIFORM COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME - A fiber having a non-uniform composition is disclosed. The fiber includes a first domain having a first composition and a second domain having a second composition different from the first composition. The fiber includes an interphase region intermediate the first and second domains that includes a blend of the first and second compositions to provide a gradual transition from the first domain composition to the second domain composition. A method for making such fibers is also disclosed.11-18-2010
20110076771TISSUE FIBER SCAFFOLD AND METHOD FOR MAKING - The present disclosure relates to a fiber, a method of forming a fiber, a system for forming a fiber, and a method of engineering tissue from a fiber. The fiber includes an engineered geometric feature forming a non-Euclidian geometry.03-31-2011
20110111225Extruded Filament Having High Definition Cross-Sectional Indicia/Coding, Microscopic Tagging System Formed Therefrom and Method of Use Thereof for Anti-Counterfeiting of Product Authentication - An extruded filament is provided having a cross-sectional configuration which permits a cut transverse section of the filament to function as a high definition tagging material, the extruded filament having contained therein along the direction of the longitudinal axis (the axis of extrusion) of the filament a multitude of extruded strand portions, which may be the same or different from one another from the standpoint of composition, visual or forensic effect, and which strand portions provide a multitude of pixel-like portions within a cross-sectional portion of the filament, which multitude of pixel-like portions, when taken together, comprise at least one pre-selected degree of identification whereby the tagging material may be differentiated or identified based on at least one degree of identification. A cut fiber or microparticle formed from the filament may be used to authenticate a product when used in association with the product.05-12-2011
