20090093015Beta-cryptoxanthin production using a novel lycopene beta-monocyclase gene - Novel lycopene beta-monocyclase genes were identified and used to transform a host cell to produce β-cryptoxanthin. The host cell produces lycopene and is transformed to express the novel lycopene β-monocyclase that converts lycopene into γ-carotene. The host cell is further transformed to express a lycopene hydroxylase that hydroxylates γ-carotene to 3-hydroxy-γ-carotene and a lycopene β-bicyclase that converts 3-hydroxy-γ-carotene to β-cryptoxanthin. The host cell is grown under conditions whereby γ-carotene is produced which is hydroxylated to 3-hydroxy-γ-carotene and which is converted into β-cryptoxanthin.04-09-2009

20110029488SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING, STORING,PRESENTING AND ANALYZING IMMUNIZATION DATA HAVING REMOTE STATIONS IN COMMUNICATION WITH A VACCINE AND DISEASE DATABASE OVER A NETWORK - A system is provided for collecting and storing immunization and disease data. Immunization mobile stations (IMSs) are provided with a software application to facilitate the collection of patient information such as biographical data, previous vaccination data, medical history, medications in use, occupation, administration of recent vaccination, disease symptoms and the like. IMSs synchronize the patient information with information stored in a database maintained at a data center that is accessible to different groups of personnel based on different privileges defined at the data center and security measures. Patients can access electronic patient records created by the IMSs, and stored at the IMSs and/or a local server and eventually at the data center, via telephone or computer (e.g., via web browser). IMSs can capture and store images of vaccination and disease symptom sites on patients. The database allows for vaccination and disease tracking and disease control. The IMSs can be provided with a vaccination recommendation engine to determine if a patient is eligible for a vaccination and electronic patient consent forms, and are programmable to track adverse events and create follow-up reports after a vaccine is administered.02-03-2011

20090258543ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR HAVING POSITIONING PEG AND ASSEMBLY HAVING SAME - The present disclosure relates to electrical connectors and to header systems having such connectors. In one embodiment an electrical connector also known as a header can have two aligning and locating pegs for cooperating with alignment holes of the housing of a control module to accurately and precisely position header in a respective bay of the control module. The pegs of each header can have either unique cross-sectional shapes which can be reflected in respective alignment holes of housing, or can be uniquely positioned on the header which positioning is matched on the holes of the housing to permit each header to be accurately and precisely seated along the x-axis and the y-axis in only one bay and in only a desired front back orientation, or both. In this fashion, the terminals of the header, including its pins, are in position to engage openings in a PCB or other connector. The pegs can also include ribs to capture the housing and prevent vertical or z-axis movement of the header relative to the housing. Retaining the desired vertical position can result in precise placement of the terminals along the z-axis for engagement with respective PCB. Each header can include a trough system to receive overflow of adhesive used to secure the header to the housing.10-15-2009

20110047442FORWARD ERROR CORRECTION FOR MEMORIES - Methods, systems, and devices are described for forward error correction for flash memory. Encoded data from flash memory may be used to generate a number of data streams. At each of a number of error detection sub-modules operating in parallel, a different one of the data streams is processed. Each error detection sub-module may detect whether a portion of the respective received stream contains an error, and forward the portion to an error correction module. The error correction module, physically separate from the error detection sub-modules, may correct the forwarded portions of the respective received streams containing an error. The age and error rate associated with the flash memory may be monitored, and a coding rate or other aspects may be dynamically adapted to account for these factors.02-24-2011
