20080255803DETECTABLE DEFECT SIZE AND PROBABILITY-OF-DETECTION - Predicting the probability of detection of major and minor defects in a structure includes simulating a plurality of N defects at random locations in a region specified by an array of transducers. Defect size is incremented until it intersects one path between two transducers. The defect size is again incremented until it intersects two or more adjacent paths between pairs of transducers. The number of major defects up to a selected size is determined by the total number of single path intersections by defects up to the selected size. The number of minor defects up to a selected size is determined on the basis of the total number of defects intersecting two or more paths up to the selected size. The probability of detection up to a selected size is the cumulative number of major or minor defects up to the selected size normalizing by N.10-16-2008
20090067144FLEXIBLE NETWORK - An integrated circuit connector is extendable for a variety of applications. In connection with various embodiments, an electrical connector has first and second ends connected to respective circuit nodes in an integrated circuit device. The connector is bundled between the circuit nodes (e.g., substantially all of the connector is located between nodes), and is extended from such a bundled state in which the first and second connected ends are separated by a first proximate distance. The connector is applied in an extended state in which the first and second connected ends are separated by a second distance that is greater than the first proximate distance by at least two orders of magnitude.03-12-2009

20090143869ANTI-SHOCK ARTIFICIAL KNEE JOINT STRUCTURE - An anti-shock artificial knee joint includes a pivot stop block forming a first pivot hole rotatably receiving therein a first pivot for bending the knee joint and a second pivot hole rotatably receiving a second pivot. A gap extending from the first pivot hole so that when the pivot stop block is subjected to an external force induced in the process of walking, the gap is reduced to secure the first pivot from rotation whereby the pivot stop block rotates about the second pivot to cause the pivot stop block to engage spring-biased pistons to thereby absorb the external force or the impact caused by the external force. The spring-biased pistons are provided with set screws to adjust the cushioning effect provided by the spring-biased pistons.06-04-2009
