20120149040 | Adam12, A Novel Marker For Abnormal Cell Function - The present invention provides a method, an assay and a kit for providing an indication of abnormal cell function. The present inventors describes ADAM12 as a overall general marker for abnormal cell function, and the present inventor for the first time demonstrate that ADAM12 is an important indicator of fetal chromosomal disease and placenta function. Specifically ADAM12 is a good marker for e.g. Downs's syndrome, trisomy 18, preeclampsia, Turner syndrome in both first and second trimester. The present inventors developed an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and a time-resolved immunofluorometric assay for the quantification of ADAM12 in serum. The present application demonstrates in several examples the variation of the ADAM12 level in fetal abnormality and/or adverse pregnancy outcomes correlated gestational age when compared to normal controls. It is an object of the invention to provide an improvement of the existing marker tests that exhibits a decreased false positive rate. | 06-14-2012 |

20100106466 | SYSTEM FOR THE COMPUTED-AIDED DESIGN OF TECHNICAL DEVICES - The invention concerns an apparatus and a computer software product for the conceptioneering, predesign and configuration of a machine object represented by an object data model. Component objects are stored in an object database, wherein a component object contains at least one parameter object. In addition the database contains functional objects. The modeling approach implemented by the separation according to the invention of component objects and functional objects permits a distinction to be drawn between constraints within a component object and constraints which exist between component objects. The former are embraced by the component objects themselves and the latter by the functional objects. That encapsulation has in particular the advantage that the modeling process can be substantially clearer. In addition encapsulation permits re-use of the component objects in various systems. | 04-29-2010 |

20100027821 | Hearing aid and method for operating a hearing aid - The invention relates to a method for a hearing aid wearer to actively operate a hearing aid. A signal processing section of the hearing aid has a demixing module for separating audio signals and a postprocessor module which sets up a hold mode of operation for the hearing aid. An audio signal, which is preferred by the hearing aid wearer, from an ambient sound, is tracked and selected by virtue of the hearing aid wearer transmitting to the hearing aid a command which sets up the hold mode of operation in the signal processing section of the hearing aid for a certain period. The signal processing section tracks the preferred audio signal and selectively takes account of it in an output sound from the hearing aid such that it is audibly highlighted for the hearing aid wearer in comparison with another audio signal and is thereby perceived better. | 02-04-2010 |
20100034406 | Method for Operating a Hearing Aid, And Hearing Aid - The invention relates to a method for operating a hearing aid. A local source operating mode is established by a signal processing section of the hearing aid for tracking and selecting a local acoustic source of an ambient sound. Electrical acoustic signals from which the local acoustic source is determined by the signal processing section are generated by the hearing aid from the detected ambient sound. The local acoustic source is selectively taken into account by the signal processing section in an output sound of the hearing aid such that the local acoustic source is at least acoustically prominent and is therefore better perceived compared to another acoustic source for a hearing aid wearer. | 02-11-2010 |
20100098262 | METHOD AND HEARING DEVICE FOR PARAMETER ADAPTATION BY DETERMINING A SPEECH INTELLIGIBILITY THRESHOLD - A method and a hearing device are proposed to adapt at least one hearing device parameter. A first speech intelligibility threshold is determined. The determined first speech intelligibility threshold is compared with a predefinable reference value and is adapted the at least one hearing device parameter on the basis of the comparison. This is advantageous in that hearing device parameters, which could previously not be individually set as a result of objective measuring data, can be adjusted by an objective measurement. | 04-22-2010 |
20100098276 | Hearing Apparatus Controlled by a Perceptive Model and Corresponding Method - A hearing device including a signal processing device for processing an input signal and generating an output signal and a modeling device in which a perceptive model is implemented, in order to generate a psycho-acoustic value for controlling the signal processing device, is provided. Data mapping of the hearing loss, in particular audiogram data, are input into the modeling device and the perceptive model determines the psycho-acoustic value for controlling the signal processing device based on the data from the data mapping and the output signal. | 04-22-2010 |

20120141670 | OPEN-POROUS METAL FOAM BODY AND A METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME - Disclosed are an open-porous metal foam and a method for manufacturing the same. An open-porous metal foam according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention is made of an iron-based alloy including 15 wt % or more of chrome and 5 wt % or more of aluminum. The open-porous metal foam is a semi-product that is formed of iron or the iron-based alloy that does not include chrome and aluminum or includes a smaller amount of chrome and aluminum in the powder when manufacturing, and the surface and the open pore thereof are uniformly coated with the powder of the iron-chrome-aluminum alloy and the organic binding agent. When heat treatment is performed under a reduction atmosphere, sintering is performed. In this case, the metal foam body that is formed of the iron-chrome-aluminum alloy is obtained by compensating concentrations of alloy elements between the semi-product and the powder by diffusion, and a content of chrome and aluminum in the metal foam is smaller than a content of chrome and aluminum included in a starting alloy of the used powder. | 06-07-2012 |
