20110216307High Density Wind Velocity Data Collection for Wind Turbine - Methods and systems for collecting high-density wind velocity data for the inflow area of a wind turbine are presented. Wind turbines are provided with one or more wind velocity sensors that provide a plurality of wind velocity measurements to the turbine from various ranges and locations across the inflow. Sensors are proximate to the wind turbine. Sensors mounted on the turbine's nacelle work collaboratively to provide the wind velocity measurements. Sensors mounted on the turbine's hub spin with the turbine blades. Spatial and temporal wind mapping provides improved fidelity of data to the wind turbine control system.09-08-2011
20110295438Wind and Power Forecasting Using LIDAR Distance Wind Sensor - A wind turbine power management system and method includes one or more wind turbines at a wind farm and one or more laser sources used to measure wind conditions remote from the wind farm. The laser sources may be collocated with the wind turbines, and are able to measure wind conditions at various predetermined ranges from the wind turbines. The laser sources measure wind conditions at locations that provide 10 to 20 seconds of advance notice, and also at locations that provide 50 to 100 seconds of advance notice. Wind condition at locations that provide 500 or more seconds of advance notice are also measured using remote laser sources.12-01-2011

20110072523COMPUTER SECURITY SYSTEM HAVING INTEGRATED GPS - A computing apparatus having a hard drive storage unit which includes a global positioning system, a non-volatile memory and a compare module. The non-volatile memory stores a permitted zone of operation of the hard drive storage unit while the compare module monitors the current location. If the compare module detects a current location of the hard drive storage unit as tracked by the global positioning system which is outside of the permitted zone of operation as stored in the non-volatile memory, the non-volatile memory contains at least one command implemented by a computer processor that may cause the hard drive storage unit to become disabled.03-24-2011

20110040256Insertion Device for an Insertion Set and Method of Using the Same - An insertion device and insertion set. The insertion device for inserting at least a portion of at least one piercing member of an insertion set through the skin of a patient includes a device housing, a carrier body and a driver. The carrier body is slidably received within the device housing for movement between an advanced position and a retracted position. The carrier body also includes a receiving structure to support the insertion set in a position with the at least one piercing member oriented for insertion through the skin of the patient at a predetermined or variable angle relative to the skin of the patient upon movement of the carrier body from the retracted position to the advanced position. The driver is operatively coupled between the device housing and the carrier body to urge the carrier body from the retracted position toward the advanced position to place at least a portion of the at least one piercing member of the insertion set thorough the skin of the patient to install the insertion set to the patient. The receiving structure of the carrier body is removable from the insertion set while maintaining the installation of the insertion set to the patient.02-17-2011
