20120023104SEMANTICALLY ASSOCIATED TEXT INDEX AND THE POPULATION AND USE THEREOF - The construction of a semantically associated computer search database is disclosed. A text catalog containing the text particulars and contents of a plurality of electronic documents, a term association database which joins text search terms with their semantic meanings or definitions, and a content association database which contains records associating text search terms and their contextual definitions in respect of individual electronic documents are used to in conjunction provide a text index in which it is possible to search based upon the actual definitions or meanings of certain text or terms within the electronic documents, reducing or refining query search result sets. A method of operating a search engine with the index in question, as well as other e-commerce methods employing the index as a refining tool are also disclosed.01-26-2012

20110062056Excess Air Control For Cracker Furnace Burners - A method for control of the air/fuel ratio of the burner(s) (excess air) of a thermal cracker which includes three steps. The first step is to direct a wavelength modulated beam of near infrared light from a tunable diode laser through combustion gas from the burner to a near infrared light detector to generate a detector signal. The second step is to analyze the detector signal for spectroscopic absorption at wavelengths characteristic for an analyte selected from the group consisting of oxygen, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide to determine the concentration of the analyte in the combustion gas. The third step is to adjust the air/fuel ratio of the burner(s) (excess air) in response to the concentration of the analyte of the second step.03-17-2011

20100025379METHOD FOR WIRE ELECTRO-DISCHARGE MACHINING A PART - A method for machining a part includes wire electro-discharge machining the part, and then selectively reducing a zinc content of the residual recast layer left on a surface of the part, while otherwise leaving the recast layer substantially intact.02-04-2010
20100325852METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING ROTOR DISCS - A method for providing a disc of a bladed rotor for use in a gas turbine engine including the steps of determining the location of blade fixing slots to be formed on the disc to receive the roots of respective blades, determining a virtual profile of each slot on the disc, and forming, prior to the slots being formed in the disc, a narrow, axial pilot slot centrally of the virtual profile of each slot.12-30-2010

20100062539SILICA PARTICLES MODIFIED WITH POLAR ORGANIC MOIETIES - The present disclosure relates to silica particles and, in embodiments, to organically-substituted silica particles. The particles are useful for the adsorption of compounds, particularly the adsorption and desorption of compounds in for example matrix assisted mass spectroscopy techniques or chromatographic techniques. The present disclosure further relates to such techniques, the preparation of the particles and other subject matter.03-11-2010

20100047424Use of a Mixture of Carbon Dioxide Snow and Liquid Nitrogen in Quick Freezing Applications - Method for cooling a product, all or part of the cooling being carried out by contact of the product with a mixture of carbon dioxide snow (CO2) and liquid nitrogen.02-25-2010
20100196560Method for Shaping Food Products by Cryo-Extrusion - The invention relates to a method for shaping at least one food product by cryo-extrusion using an extruder that comprises at least one extrusion screw driven by a motor and a die at the outlet of said at least one extrusion screw, characterised in that it comprises measuring at different times t08-05-2010
20110223293Method for Shaping a Food Product by Cryoextrusion Employing Predictive Temperature Regulation - The subject of the invention is a method for shaping at least one food product by cryoextrusion, the extruder being provided with a double-walled jacket surrounding the extrusion screw and through which jacket a coolant flows, this jacket consisting of a single module or several independent modules, the cryoextrusion being temperature-regulated on the basis of a curve, determined for said product to be cryoextruded, representing, plotted on the X-axis, the difference D between the actual temperature of the product and the desired temperature setting for the product at the exit and, plotted on the Y-axis, the setting to be applied for the gas temperature at the exit of the module or modules, the curve being split into three linear zones: an abrupt (steep-slope) zone, around a difference D close to 0, surrounded by two quasi-plateau zones.09-15-2011
