20120040667MEANS AND METHOD TO PREVENT ROAMING OF A HOME SUBSCRIBER IN A VISITED NETWORK RESTRICTED FOR ROAMING - At present, there are operators which perform a Location Update procedure for a subscriber via Local Number Server under invoice agreement with the subscriber himself, and even where the subscriber is roaming in an area without roaming agreement with the subscriber's operator. In this situation, the subscriber's operator loses revenues because it has no roaming agreements with the operator where the subscriber is roaming, whilst the latter gets revenues from the subscriber by using the subscriber's operator Subscriber Identity Module or newer operator's card. To avoid this situation, there is provided a home location server arranged to determine whether roaming restrictions apply for a home subscriber before providing authentication data for said home subscriber and either deny the authentication data for the home subscriber to the requesting entity or apply a charging or billing for the provision of the authentication data for said home subscriber.02-16-2012

20090059304METHOD OF GENERATING PATTERNS REPRESENTING A HALFTONE IMAGE - A method is described for generating patterns representing a halftone image, said method comprising the generation of a first set of patterns consisting of lines and curves dimensionally modulated so as to produce variations in tones reproducing the halftones of the image using an intaglio rendering technique. The method comprises the generation of a second set of patterns consisting of microstructures separate from the lines and curves of the first set of patterns, said microstructures being dimensionally modulated so as to produce variations in tones reproducing the halftones of the image. According to a first aspect of the invention, the microstructures consist of stochastic microstructures that can be likened to a grain. According to a second aspect of the invention, the microstructures consist of repetitive microstructures reproducing information that can be recognised by an observer, which repetitive microstructures comprise microletters and/or microsymbols. The second set of patterns is interlaced with the first set of patterns in such a way that the microstructures of the second set of patterns occupy the spaces between the lines and curves of the first set of patterns and so that the halftones reproduced by the second set of patterns supplement the halftones reproduced by the first set of patterns.03-05-2009
20100236432Process for Producing Security Papers, Intaglio Printing Press for Implementing Said Process, and Security Paper Produced According to Said Process - There is described process for producing security papers, in particular banknotes, comprising the step of sealing the surface of the security papers by applying a protective pattern on the surface of the security paper, which sealing comprising printing the security papers by intaglio printing using an intaglio printing plate with engraved areas such that at least 80% of the whole surface of each security paper is covered with embossed intaglio patterns produced by engraved areas of the intaglio printing plate which are inked or with a combination of embossed intaglio patterns and flat intaglio patterns, which flat intaglio patterns are produced by unengraved areas of the intaglio printing plate which are inked after wiping of the intaglio printing plate, at least a part of the embossed intaglio patterns and/or flat intaglio patterns being printed with a transparent or semi-transparent intaglio ink. The transparent or semi-transparent intaglio ink is applied in engraved areas and/or unengraved areas of the intaglio printing plate so as to seal substantially the whole surface of the security papers with a protective pattern composed of intaglio patterns. Also described are intaglio printing presses for implementing the said process and the resulting security papers.09-23-2010

20090267946Systems and methods for displaying and querying heterogeneous sets of data - A visualization system for heterogeneous data sets comprises: a unique visualization interface created by a visualization engine. The visualization interface comprises a window or canvas having a first area defining a center of attention, second area defining a parameter space and a plurality of correlation elements. The first area is a two-dimensional space for the display of items of interest. The second area provides a space in which parameters associated with the items of interest can be displayed. The correlation elements indicate relationships and their strength between items of interest and parameters in the second area. The visualization engine creates the unique visualization interface and is coupled to a data source, such as a database. The visualization engine preferably comprises an input module, a control module, a retrieving module, a rendering module, and an analysis module. These components are coupled together to receive input from the user, present the unique visualization interface to the user, and retrieve data from the data source. The present invention also includes a number of novel methods including: a method for creating visualization interface, a method for updating the visualization interface, and a method for modifying the visualization interface responsive to an alert.10-29-2009
