20090048286Inhibitors of Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase 1B - Protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPases) such as PTP1B can play a role in regulating a wide variety of cellular responses such as insulin signaling. Substituted bicyclic fused-thiophene compounds can inhibit PTP1B and thereby induce greater insulin sensitivity. Accordingly, PTP1B inhibition can provide an alternate treatment for PTPase-mediated disorders such as diabetes.02-19-2009

20090113663CYCLONIC SEPARATING APPARATUS - A cyclonic separating apparatus includes a cyclonic separator for separating dirt and dust from an airflow, an inlet to the cyclonic separator and a shroud comprising a wall having a multiplicity of through-holes forming an outlet from the cyclonic separator. The apparatus also includes a plurality of separate passageways provided immediately downstream of the through-holes. By providing this arrangement, the separate passageways can be located around other parts of the cyclonic separating apparatus inwardly of the shroud, allowing for better packaging of the components of the cyclonic separating apparatus. The shroud may be reduced in size because some of the space previously required for a single, large passageway can be used for other components of the cyclonic separating apparatus such a collector or a cyclone. The reduction in size of the shroud in turn allows for the cyclonic separating apparatus to be more compact.05-07-2009
20100306956CLEANER HEAD - Agitating apparatus for a surface treating appliance includes a rotatable body having a plurality of grooves formed therein, an agitating member located within each groove so that at least one side edge of the agitating member protrudes outwardly from the body, and a connecting member located within each groove for connecting the agitating member to the body.12-09-2010
20100306957CLEANER HEAD - A cleaner head for a surface treating appliance includes a housing and a rotatable brush bar located within the housing. The brush bar includes a first plurality of bristles and a second plurality of bristles which protrude radially outwardly beyond the first plurality of bristles. The second plurality of bristles has a surface resistivity in the range from 1×1012-09-2010
20100306958CLEANER HEAD - Agitating apparatus for a surface treating appliance includes a rotatable body having an outer surface comprising an electrically conductive pile formed from filaments having a surface resistivity in the range from 1×1012-09-2010
20100306959CLEANER HEAD - Agitating apparatus for a surface treating appliance includes a rotatable body having at least one substantially continuous row of bristles extending outwardly therefrom, the bristles having a surface resistivity in the range from 1×1012-09-2010
20100319159TOOL FOR A SURFACE TREATING APPLIANCE - A tool for a surface treating appliance includes a main body connected to a conduit. The main body includes a first suction channel and a second suction channel in fluid communication with the first suction channel and located between the first suction channel and an outlet from the main body. In use, a relatively low vacuum is generated in the first suction channel which draws a first dirt-bearing fluid flow into the main body, and a relatively high vacuum is generated in the second suction channel, which draws a second dirt-bearing fluid flow into the main body and receives the first dirt-bearing fluid flow from the first suction channel. To maintain the pressure differences between the suction channels, the main body includes flexible surface engaging members located about the suction channels, and between the first suction channel and the second suction channel.12-23-2010
