20090246377THERMAL INK JET INK COMPOSITION - Disclosed are ink jet ink compositions suitable for use in thermal ink jet printers. The ink jet ink compositions contain one or more volatile organic solvents, one or more humectants, one or more binder resins, and one or more colorants. The ink jet ink compositions may also contain additives such as a plasticizer and/or a surfactant. Embodiments of the ink jet ink compositions have short dry times, good adhesion to a variety of substrates, and/or long decap times.10-01-2009
20090273621SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAINTAINING OR RECOVERING NOZZLE FUNCTION FOR AN INKJET PRINTHEAD - A transducer capable of generating vibrational energy is positioned relative to an inkjet cartridge to impart a vibrational force to simultaneously vibrate at least a portion of each of a plurality of ink fluidic columns associated with a plurality of nozzles in a printhead of the inkjet cartridge to maintain or recover nozzle function.11-05-2009
20090289971Ink Containment System and Ink Level Sensing System for an Inkjet Cartridge - An ink containment system for an inkjet cartridge, for storing ink for printing, comprises a housing having a plurality of walls. A rigid basin member and a rigid moveable plate are disposed within the housing. A flexible membrane is affixed to a surface of the basin member and to a surface of the plate forming an ink reservoir within the basin member, plate and flexible membrane. A spring-biased mechanism is disposed between the basin member and plate, for biasing the plate apart from the basin member, generating a negative pressure within the ink reservoir and the basin member remaining stationary relative to the movement of the plate.11-26-2009
20090303299INK CONTAINMENT SYSTEM AND INK LEVEL SENSING SYSTEM FOR AN INKJET CARTRIDGE - An ink containment system for an inkjet cartridge, for storing ink for printing, comprises a rigid basin member and a rigid moveable plate. A flexible membrane is affixed to a surface of the basin member and to a surface of the plate forming an ink reservoir within the basin member, plate and flexible membrane. A spring-biased mechanism is disposed between the basin member and plate, for biasing the plate apart from the basin member, generating a negative pressure within the ink reservoir and the basin member remaining stationary relative to the movement of the plate. The basin member has a bowl-like configuration and the spring is seated within the reservoir in such a way that when the ink reservoir has collapsed due to depletion of ink, the flexible membrane and moveable plate are substantially flush with surfaces of the basin member.12-10-2009
20100098860THERMAL INK JET INK COMPOSITION - A thermal ink jet ink composition includes one or more volatile organic solvents, one or more humectants, one or more binder resins, and one or more dyes. The one or more volatile organic solvents are selected from C04-22-2010
20100328401THERMAL INK JET INK COMPOSITION - A solvent-based inkjet ink composition for inkjet printing includes at least 50 weight percent solvent, a colorant, a humectant, from 0.3 weight % to 8 weight % of a binder resin, and not more than 5 weight percent water. The ink composition is compatible with components of a thermal ink jet printer.12-30-2010
20110141191SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAINTAINING OR RECOVERING NOZZLE FUCTION FOR A PRINTHEAD - A transducer capable of generating vibrational energy is positioned relative to an inkjet cartridge to impart a vibrational force to simultaneously vibrate at least a portion of each of a plurality of ink fluidic columns associated with a plurality of nozzles in a printhead of the inkjet cartridge to maintain or recover nozzle function.06-16-2011

20090128304METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TACTILE INTERFACE FOR REVIEWING RADIOLOGICAL IMAGES - Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method for reviewing medical images using a tactile interface to display a bas-relief image. A tactile interface may provide a bas-relief representation of medical imaging data to an end-user. The tactile interface may include an array of tactile elements positioned as a grouping of cylinders arranged in a closely packed array. The cylinders may be raised or lowered independently to create a bas-relief pattern of an object within a medical image. A radiologist may utilize the bas-relief image to physically identify surfaces and edges for the images being viewed. The additional information may allow a radiologist to develop quicker and more accurate diagnoses.05-21-2009
