20110185220REMOTE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM AND METHOD BASED ON DEVICE DATA CLASSIFICATION - A remote diagnostic system and method based on device data classification. Device diagnostic data with respect to a device can be acquired and a conditional probability look up table can be constructed for each fault code associated with the device diagnostic data by a classification module. A score function can then be created by summing the conditional probabilities and an occurrence of the fault code can be mapped to a service call category with a numerically highest score function. The fault occurrence data in association with a number of time stamps and device identifiers can be stored in a data warehouse. The occurrence of fault code can be matched with respect to a solution set which can be automatically dispatched to a customer via a communications link.07-28-2011

20100003546SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SHORTING A FUEL CELL STACK - A fuel cell system is provided that includes a fuel cell stack with a plurality of fuel cells and a power converter in electrical communication with the fuel cell stack. The power converter is configured to selectively regulate a power of the fuel cell stack and short circuit the fuel cell stack, as desired. A method for starting the fuel cell stack is also described including the steps of causing a short circuit of the fuel cell stack by placing the power converter in a short circuit mode; introducing a hydrogen to the anodes of the fuel cell stack to displace a quantity of air on the anodes; and placing the power converter in a power regulation mode. A degradation of the fuel cell stack during start-up is thereby militated against.01-07-2010
20100040931INTEGRATION OF ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION INSIDE A FUEL CELL STACK - A fuel cell system that includes a single enclosure for all of a fuel cell stack and other stack critical electronics and components, such as power distribution components, voltage monitoring and detecting components, electrical isolation components, etc. The single enclosure offers a number of advantages, such as reduced weight and reduced complexity for service and safety.02-18-2010
20100112382LIFE EXTENSION OF PEM FUEL CELL USING STARTUP METHOD - A fuel cell system that employs a technique for reducing or significantly eliminating the MEA degradation that occurs as a result of the hydrogen-air front in the anode flow channels at system start-up. After system shut-down, any hydrogen remaining within the anode flow channels will be quickly reacted or diffused. At the next start-up, a switch is closed to provide a dead short across the positive and negative terminals of the fuel cell stack as hydrogen is being introduced into the anode flow channels. The existing air in the cathode flow channels reacts with the hydrogen being introduced across the membrane in the normal fuel cell reaction. However, the short prevents a voltage potential across the membrane.05-06-2010

20100061770SIMPLIFIED RESETTING THUMPER ASSEMBLY - This is a thumper assembly that is positioned in a developer station of a xerographic marking system. A waste container connected to a drop tube collects waste developer from this station. A magnet prevents magnetic developer from moving through the tube when the container is removed. Once a new container is installed, the magnet is moved away from the tube thereby allowing magnetic developer lodged therein to again move through the tube. A thumper is moved striking the tube to further dislodge developer and allow this developer to move through the tube into the waste container.03-11-2010
