20090024060SAMPLE COLLECTOR - A collector includes a collecting element that receives a sample of bodily fluid. The collecting element may be an absorbent pad that has been treated with a surfactant to optimize recovery of analytes from the sample and/or their absorbance onto the absorbent material. An extractor is operably connected to a container and receives the collector to provide fluid communication between the collector and the container. The collector, when received by the extractor, is operable to release a volume of the sample into the container.01-22-2009

20100144934FIRE RETARDANT FORMULATIONS - A fire-retardant formulation for styrene-containing polymers comprising tris(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)-s-triazine (FR-245), antimony trioxide and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), wherein the bromine concentration in said fire-retardant formulation is from about 9.0 to about 10.5 wt. %, said antimony trioxide concentration being lower than about 3.2 wt. %.06-10-2010
20110160362FLAME-RETARDED COMPOSITIONS OF STYRENE-CONTAINING POLYMERS - A flame-retarded styrene-containing polymer composition, which comprises a styrene-containing polymer, tris(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)-s-triazine, 0.5-1.7 wt % antimony trioxide, and an anti-dripping agent. The bromine content of the composition is generally in the range between 8 and 18 wt %. Additional brominated flame retarding agents may also be included in the composition.06-30-2011

20090240203Tip protector for cannula, trocar and/or cannula trocar combination - A needle protector that protects the tip or distal end of a cannula, a trocar, or a cannula/trocar combination, is provided by an extruded tubing that has at least a section thereof that includes one or a plurality of protrusions or protuberances that are configured in a given fashion so that there is a slight bend created at that section of the tube, when the tube is fitted onto a cannula or trocar with the protrusions coming into contact with the outer diameter surface of the cannula or trocar. This results in friction contact between the protrusions and the cannula or trocar to maintain the tube protector in place relative to the cannula or trocar. The protrusions may be punched or lanced in the tube to a given depth towards the interior of the tube to establish a given friction contact so that a predetermined force is required to be exerted in order to separate the tube protector from the cannula, trocar or a combination where the trocar is fitted into the cannula with the tip of the trocar extending beyond the distal end of the cannula.09-24-2009
20110092921Portal with septum embedded indicia - An implantable portal includes a septum that has embedded therein an indicia adapted to identify at least one characteristic of the portal. The indicia may be formed as an impression at a base layer of the septum, and is filled with a radiopaque material. The septum base layer is covered by liquid silicone, which bonds with the septum base layer when solidified, so that an integral one-piece septum, with the identifier indicia embedded therein, is effected. The indicia embedded septum is fitted to the reservoir housing of the portal for providing identification information for that portal. The septum embedded indicia is viewable visually and also by x-ray or computer tomography imaging.04-21-2011

20090087430SELECTIVE INHIBITION OF TOLL-LIKE RECEPTOR-2 - It has been found that Toll-like receptor 1 and Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) physically interact. Antibodies that specifically bind to TLR2 and selectively inhibit induction of cytokines are also described. The invention relates to specific antibodies that selectively bind to TLR2, and to methods of identifying compounds that selectively interfere with signaling through TLR1/TLR2 complexes.04-02-2009
20110152251COMPOUNDS FOR MODULATING TLR2 - The present invention is directed to methods, kits, and uses of inhibitors of LCMV mediated NF-κB activation to treat viral infections and inflammatory conditions.06-23-2011
