Low temperature mercury control process - The Low Temperature Mercury Control, or LTMC, process is a technology developed by us for controlling mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants. In the LTMC process, mercury emissions are controlled by cooling the exhaust flue gases with an air heater (or water spray) beyond the typical 300° F. to about 200-220° F., thereby promoting mercury absorption on the coal fly ash. The fly ash containing the absorbed mercury is then captured in the power plant's existing particulate collection device. An alkaline material, magnesium hydroxide slurry in our tests, is injected to eliminate sulfur trioxide (sulfuric acid) which could otherwise condense at the cool temperature and corrode or foul the power plant's air heater and ductwork. | 03-04-2010

Method and system for applying an encircling seal to a closure of an opening, in particular of a door, of a motor vehicle - A method and a system for applying a seal to the closure of an opening, in particular to a door of a motor vehicle, is provided. The application takes place in two stages. In a first stage, a seal, which is cut off from a continuous seal strip is placed with a stationary roll-on head on placing and pressing elements of a tensioning plate, which are moved past the roll-on head. In a second stage, the tensioning plate with the seal placed on the placing and pressing elements is guided to the closure of the opening and pressed here by means of the pressing elements on the bonding face of the closure of the opening. In general, this type of application takes place exclusively by mechanical means. | 07-15-2010

FIXTURE FOR RETAINING AN END OF A MEMBER - Fixture for attachment of an end of a member, such as a wind turbine tower section, blade or hub for a wind turbine, which characteristically has an end flange. To enable clamping while being able to compensate for different hole patterns in the flanges, by the invention, the fixture provides for retaining of ends of members with flanges, regardless of flange diameter and hole patterns, and which is also quickly and easily installed. Additionally, it is possible to firmly clamp the flange end to upstanding frame parts of the fixture with fastening elements, thereby providing a stable connection between a console of the fixture and the upstanding frame parts. | 08-11-2011

SYSTEM AND METHOD TO OPTIMIZE OS SCHEDULING DECISIONS FOR POWER SAVINGS BASED ON TEMPORAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SCHEDULED ENTITY AND SYSTEM WORKLOAD - In some embodiments, the invention involves a system and method to enhance an operating system's ability to schedule ready threads, specifically to select a logical processor on which to run the ready thread, based on platform policy. Platform policy may be performance-centric, power-centric, or a balance of the two. Embodiments of the present invention use temporal characteristics of the system utilization, or workload, and/or temporal characteristics of the ready thread in choosing a logical processor. Other embodiments are described and claimed. | 01-01-2009
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SELECTING OPTIMAL PROCESSOR PERFORMANCE LEVELS BY USING PROCESSOR HARDWARE FEEDBACK MECHANISMS - An embodiment of the present invention is a system and method relating to adaptive power management using hardware feedback to select optimal processor frequencies and reduce power/watt. In at least one embodiment, the present invention is intended to optimize processor frequency and power/watt usage based on the hardware feedback and processor stall behavior. | 04-02-2009
| 20090296634 | Open and extensible framework for ubiquitous radio management and services in heterogeneous wireless networks - An open and extensible framework for ubiquitous radio management and services in heterogeneous wireless networks is disclosed.
