20090275396System and method to transfigure foreign or interstate wagering to an intrastate, sanctioned activity - A system and method to permit foreign or interstate wagering from remote locations where the wager is placed, accepted and settled all within a state, territory or other forum where wagering and other gaming is sanctioned. An organization situated in the forum location (the “forum host”) establishes and maintains a business entity to bestow an intra-forum presence to the foreign or interstate player. Through the business entity, the forum host can account for the player's wagers, winnings and losses, while at the same time, allocating and/or collecting the appropriate federal, state and/or local taxes and fees on the member/player's account. The process is automated via a host computer system, which manages betting activities of a plurality of members/players, and enables one or more players at a remote location to participate in intrastate gaming for purposes of the local forum's laws, rules and regulations affecting the gaming industry.11-05-2009

20120101859ONLINE RESERVATION SOFTWARE - An online reservation system, characterized by a transient reservation status of “pending” having an associated time limit. An inquiry on a specific one of the resources via the user interface triggers the pending status for the specific one of the resources and blocks other users from reserving the specific one of the resources for the associated time limit. The reservation status of the specific one of the resources is updated to “reserved” if payment is effected within the associated time limit. The reservation status of the specific one of the resources is updated to “unreserved” if payment is not effected within the associated time limit.04-26-2012

20080212634Optical Irradiation Device for the Polarization of Alkali Atoms and a Device for the Hyperpolarization of Noble Gases - An optical irradiation device for the polarization of alkali metal atoms for the hyperpolarization of noble gases by spin exchange includes at least one semiconductor laser device which can generate laser light which, with regard to its wavelength, is suitable for the polarization of the alkali metal atoms. A polarizer effects circular polarization of the laser light generated by the semiconductor laser device. A device for introducing the laser light into a working region in which the alkali metal atoms to be polarized can be present, and a device for defining a wavelength of the laser light, which can couple part of the laser light back into the semiconductor laser device in order thereby to define the wavelength of the laser light at a predetermined wavelength or a predetermined wavelength range.09-04-2008

20100090567STORAGE FURNITURE SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR ASSEMBLING THE STORAGE FURNITURE SYSTEM - A modular storage furniture system is provided. The furniture system includes at least one cabinet or shelf, at least one interchangeable surface panel, and a support structure. Cabinet side panels are provided with one or more rows of vertically spaced fastening notches that can receive a range of components including, but not limited to, horizontal support rails, cabinet door hinges, cabinet drawer slides, and internal cabinet shelves. The interchangeable surface panels can be removably attached to any side of the cabinet by way of fasteners, connectors, hooks, magnets, or a channel system. The support structure includes at least two vertical fastening posts, with a plurality of notches provided at intervals along the length of each fastening post. A cabinet or shelf can be removably attached to the support structure by inserting hooks provided on the cabinet sides or shelf brackets into the notches. All system components can be dismantled to provide a generally flat and compact shape for easy shipping.04-15-2010

20090294552Heated fuel injector - A heated fuel injector includes a heated body, liquid fuel flowing through a fuel passage within the body, and a member that increases heat transfer from the heated body to the fuel within the fuel passage. The thermal efficiency of the fuel injector is increased separately or in combination by diverting the fuel flow along an inner circumferential contour of the heated body, by limiting the volume of fuel bypassing the heated inner surface of the body, by redirecting heat from the body to unheated portions of the fuel flow field within the fuel passage, and by increasing the available contact surface area for heat transfer. Improved heat transfer from the heated body to the fuel is achieved by integrating features that increase the contact surface area into the inside surface of the body or by positioning an insulating or a thermally conductive spacer within the fuel passage.12-03-2009

20100175667FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH INJECTOR ISOLATOR RING - A fuel injection system for internal combustion engine includes an injector mounted within a pocket formed in the cylinder head, and an isolator which defines a radial clearance gap with the injector pocket. The isolator expands radially outwardly into a clearance gap in response to axially directed force imposed upon the isolator by the injector, so that a dual rate force/displacement effect is achieved by the isolator.07-15-2010
20100175668FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH INJECTOR ISOLATOR - A fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine includes a fuel injector pocket, formed within a cylinder head, for housing an injector which sprays fuel into a combustion chamber defined by the cylinder head and a piston crown. The injector is mounted with an isolator which is loaded at a lower, elastic rate during lower power operation, with the elastic load element being stacked solid and subject to higher rate column loading during high power operation of the engine and injection system. The isolator controls unwanted injector ticking noise, while protecting the integrity of the injector's tip seal.07-15-2010
20120017864Intake Manifold Metal Posts - An intake manifold is disclosed which has an upper shell portion having a first peripheral flange, a lower shell portion having a second peripheral flange, and at least one metallic post having a first plate and a second plate. The first and second peripheral flanges are friction welded and the first plate of the posts is friction welded to the upper shell portion and the second plate of the posts is friction welded to the lower shell portion. The upper and lower shells are made of a polymeric, or plastic, material. The metallic post is comprised substantially of aluminum or other suitable metals or alloys. The upper and lower shell portions define a cavity and a section of the post between the first and second plates traverses through the cavity.01-26-2012

20100286099INTRAVENOUS FORMULATION WITH WATER-SOLUBLE COCRYSTALS OF ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID AND THEANINE - A water-soluble aspirin-theanine cocrystal composition which includes a quantity of acetylsalicylic acid and a quantity of a theanine enantiomer associated with the quantity of acetylsalicylic acid. The composition may be created by a method including the steps of: (i) providing a quantity of acetylsalicylic acid; (ii) adding a quantity of a theanine enantiomer to the quantity of acetylsalicylic acid to form a mixture comprising the quantity of acetylsalicylic acid and the enantiomer of theanine; (iii) wetting the mixture; and (iv) grinding the mixture for a length of time sufficient to produce a dried crystalline mass. The water-soluble cocrystal composition is suitable for intravenous administration, preferably to humans.11-11-2010
