20080301406SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ALLOCATING COMMUNICATIONS TO PROCESSORS IN A MULTIPROCESSOR SYSTEM - In a multiprocessor-system, a system and method assigns communications to processors, processes, or subsets of types of communications to be processed by a specific 12-04-2008
20090165003SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ALLOCATING COMMUNICATIONS TO PROCESSORS AND RESCHEDULING PROCESSES IN A MULTIPROCESSOR SYSTEM - In a multiprocessor system, a system and method assigns communications to processors, processes, or subsets of types of communications to be processed by a specific processor without using a locking mechanism specific to the resources required for assignment. The system and method can reschedule processes to run on the processor on which the assignment is made.06-25-2009
20090268612Method and apparatus for a network queuing engine and congestion management gateway - A method, apparatus, and queuing engine implement congestion management. The method may include receiving, via a first interface of the apparatus, data traffic for forwarding to a node of a network. The method may also include receiving, at a second interface of the apparatus, a notification that indicates that congestion is affecting communication with the node, and responsive to the notification, accumulating the data traffic into the queue for a given time period. The method may further include dequeuing the data traffic from the queue after the given time period; and sending the portion of the data traffic to the node via the second interface.10-29-2009

20110055162APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR IMPROVED PORTABLE DOCUMENT FORMAT ("PDF") DOCUMENT ARCHIVING - An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for improved Portable Document Format (“PDF”) document archiving. The method includes scanning a source PDF document for a shared resource. The source PDF document includes a plurality of records. The shared resource includes a common resource referenced by way of a resource pointer associated with a record of the source PDF document. The method includes copying the shared resource to a resource group associated with the source PDF document. The method also includes short-circuiting a link between content for the shared resource and the resource pointer in each record that points to the shared resource. The method includes extracting a record from the source PDF document. The extracted record is void of content for the shared resource in response to the short-circuited link. Thus, records may be stored in a standalone format without excessive storage space requirements.03-03-2011

20110153640INDEXING DOCUMENTS USING INTERNAL INDEX SETS - Provided are techniques for retrieving a document that includes for each page an area that is ignored by applications that process the document and that includes a different internal index set associated with each subset of pages of the document, wherein each different internal index set is associated with an area and stores indexes, and wherein each of the indexes consists of a name-value pair. Then, for each page in the document, it is determined whether the page is associated with an internal index set; and, in response to determining that the page is associated with an internal index set, one or more name-value pairs from the internal index set are extracted, wherein each of the one or more name-value pairs provides specific information about the document for use in identifying the document.06-23-2011

20100094821System and Method for Inserting a PDF Shared Resource Back Into a PDF Statement - According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for inserting a PDF shared resource back into a PDF statement is provided. The method includes storing a set of statements, wherein each statement has been extracted from a document and each statement contains indirect objects. A set of resources is then stored, wherein the resources have been extracted from the document, and the resources include a set of indirect objects. All of the indirect objects in a selected one of the stored statements are then enumerated and a determination is made of which of the indirect objects contain keys. A key value for the enumerated indirect objects containing keys is then read, and the indirect objects in the stored set of resources associated with each key are identified. Stream data is then copied from the indirect objects in the stored set of resources into the selected ones of the stored statements.04-15-2010

20110054427MALE URINARY INCONTINENCE DEVICE AND METHOD - A male urinary incontinence system includes a first portion that fit over a penis and has a distal end with a fluid opening. A urine collection vessel having a proximal end removably attaches to the distal of the first portion, thereby allowing a user to urinate through the fluid opening when the collection vessel is not attached. The first portion may a flexible, fluid-impermeable sheath such as a latex condom. The collection vessel may attach to the first portion through a threaded connection. The collection vessel preferably contains an absorbent material, more preferably a superabsorbent material such as a polyacrylate. The collection vessel may also assume the form of a flexible, fluid-impermeable sheath such as latex condom, enabling the absorbent or superabsorbent material to swell during the urine collection process.03-03-2011
