20090317852Engineered Cell Growth on Polymeric Films and Biotechnological Applications Thereof - A free-standing thin film is fabricated from a structure comprising a base layer coated with a sacrificial polymer layer, which is in turn coated with a flexible polymer layer. Cells are then seeded onto the flexible polymer layer and cultured to form a tissue. The flexible polymer layer is then released from the base layer to produce a free-standing thin film comprising the tissue on the flexible polymer layer. In one embodiment, the cells are myocytes, which can be actuated to propel or displace the free-standing film. In another embodiment, the free-standing film is used to treat injured human tissue.12-24-2009

20110114445ROTATORY SLUG LOADER - A product transfer system includes a first conveyor, a second conveyor, and a rotatable transporter. The first conveyor conveys a series of products along a first axis. The second conveyor is oriented along a second axis. The second axis is spaced below the first axis. The rotatable transporter has a plurality of open compartments. The open compartments are positioned around the rotatable transporter. The rotatable transporter is adapted to move each of the open compartments along a first position, a second position, and a third position, wherein an open compartment of the plurality of open compartments is substantially aligned with the first axis to receive products from the first conveyor when located at the first position, and continues to move after the receiving the products to the second position, wherein the products are dropped on the second conveyor when said open compartment of the plurality of open compartments moves from the second position to the third position.05-19-2011

20090250923Unit With At Least Two Hydraulic Connections Fastened To It - An electrohydraulic unit assembly for a motor vehicle comprising a receiving body defining a sealing face and at least two connectors fastened to the receiving body of the unit, oriented substantially parallel one to another and separated by a defined distance from one another. Each connector is configured for connecting a fluid conduit to the unit. Each connector includes a screw fitting for fastening the respective hydraulic connection to the receiving body of the unit such that a sealing face of the screw fitting or a sealing face of the fluid conduit is seated on the sealing face of the receiving body. Each screw fitting is rotatably connected to the body and includes two spanner flat portions having different spanner widths.10-08-2009
20100282549Externally Controllable Electrohydraulic Vehicle Brake System - An externally actuable electrohydraulic vehicle brake system including an externally actuable electrohydraulic vehicle system with slip control. In order to make available a brake system which permits highly dynamic pressure build-up processes without throttling effects in the suction path, in particular through a master cylinder, being adversely affected, it is proposed that the hydraulic pump be assigned means which permit the hydraulic pump additionally to drive a hydraulic charging device which is connected to an inlet of the hydraulic pump.11-11-2010
20110115282BRAKE SYSTEM FOR MOTOR VEHICLES - A brake system includes a main brake cylinder and a pedal decoupling unit provided with a holding piston, the first ring surface thereof together with a first primary brake cylinder piston defining a first hydraulic chamber that is hydraulically pressurized with an electrically controllable pressure supply device. In order to improve the pedal characteristics of the brake system, in particular in a brake-by-wire brake system, the holding piston is embodied as a differential piston, the second ring surface thereof defining a second, blockable hydraulic chamber, and a piston effect in the second chamber corresponds to a force that acts counter to the direction of actuation on the holding piston.05-19-2011
