20110246995CACHE-AWARE THREAD SCHEDULING IN MULTI-THREADED SYSTEMS - The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates scheduling threads in a multi-threaded processor with multiple processor cores. During operation, the system executes a first thread in a processor core that is associated with a shared cache. During this execution, the system measures one or more metrics to characterize the first thread. Then, the system uses the characterization of the first thread and a characterization for a second, second thread to predict a performance impact that would occur if the second thread were to simultaneously execute in a second processor core that is also associated with the cache. If the predicted performance impact indicates that executing the second thread on the second processor core will improve performance for the multi-threaded processor, the system executes the second thread on the second processor core.10-06-2011

20090103769COGNITIVE CONTROL FRAMEWORK FOR AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF APPLICATION PROGRAMS EXPOSURE A GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE - The present invention relates generally to automatic control of software application programs and image analysis and, more specifically, to analyzing graphical component, an execution scenario script, and a playback component. The recording component is adapted to capture user input data and images displayed by the graphical user interface during a recording phase of execution of the application program, and to analyze the captured user input data and displayed images to generate an execution scenario (script) during the recording phase. The execution scenario may be written in a selected high level language (e.g., XML). The playback component is adapted to generate simulated user input data based on the execution scenario during a playback phase of execution of the application program, to input the simulated user input data to the application program, to perform image analysis on images displayed by the graphical user interface as a result of processing the simulated user input data during the playback phase and captured displayed images from the recording phase; and to automatically control execution of the application program based at least in part on the image analysis.04-23-2009

20090182118METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYGUANIDINES - The invention relates to polyguanidine synthesis. The inventive method for producing polyguanidines consists in polycondensing a guanidine salt with diamine during heating in the presence of an organic acid or a mixture of organic acids. A heating process is carried out stepped process and consists in gradually increasing a temperature up to 120-130° C. and in holding at said temperature for 0.5-1.0 hour, in increasing a temperature up to 150-160° C. and in holding at said temperature for 3.5-4.0 hours and in increasing a temperature up to 170-180° C. and in holding at said temperature for 1.0-1.5 hours. Said method makes it possible obtain, in a more full manner and in shorter time, a polyguanidine, which exhibits a high biological activity. The thus obtained polyguanidines are not toxic and can be efficiently used for treating drinking and sewage waters and for producing antiseptic, cosmetic and disinfecting agents.07-16-2009

20110250812HIGH STRENGTH, DURABLE MICRO & NANO-FIBER FABRICS PRODUCED BY FIBRILLATING BICOMPONENT ISLANDS IN THE SEA FIBERS - The subject matter disclosed herein relates generally to fabrics composed of micro-denier fibers wherein said fibers are formed as bicomponent fibrillated fiber. The energy is sufficient for fibrillating as well as entangling (bonding) the fibers. These fabrics can be woven or knitted and made from made from bicomponent islands in the sea fibers and filaments or can be nonwovens and formed by either spunbonding or through the use of bicomponent staple fibers formed into a web by any one of several means and bonded similarly to those used for the spunbonded filament webs.10-13-2011
