20090134273UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE AND LAUNCH ASSEMBLY - An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is provided, that is cost effective to use and manufacture and that includes a low count of component parts, allowing mission planners to use the UAVs in a disposable manner. The UAV includes an airframe having a central body and wings extending from the central body, defining an interior cavity. The airframe includes an upper and a lower shell, each configured of a unitary piece of plastic. The upper and lower shells have walls among them that define a fuel tank and a payload bay in a stacked configuration. The airframe can further include a payload cover configured to enclose the payload bay and to contribute to the central body of the airframe. A launch assembly is also provided. In a first configuration, a launch assembly is provided, that includes a container for housing multiple UAVs and a deployment mechanism that initiates rapid ejection of the UAVs from the container. In a second configuration, a launch assembly is provided, that includes an elastic tether connecting a UAV to an accelerated mass for gentle acceleration to flight speed under a stable tow.05-28-2009

20100162084Data error recovery in non-volatile memory - When an error correction code (ECC) unit finds uncorrectable errors in a solid state non-volatile memory device, a process may be used in an attempt to locate and correct the errors. This process may first identify ‘low confidence’ memory cells that are likely to contain errors, and then determine what data is more likely to be correct in those cells, based on various criteria. The new data may then be checked with the ECC unit to verify that it is sufficiently correct for the ECC unit to correct any remaining errors.06-24-2010
20120075924METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM TO DETERMINE ACCESS INFORMATION FOR A PHASE CHANGE MEMORY - Techniques for determining access information describing an accessing of a phase change memory (PCM) device. In an embodiment, an initial read time for a PCM cell is determined based on a final read time for the PCM cell, set threshold voltage information and a reset threshold voltage drift, wherein the final read time and the initial read time define a time window for reading the PCM cell. In another embodiment, a time window extension is determined based on a reset threshold voltage drift.03-29-2012

20090234266Device for removing fluid from blood in a patient - An ultrafiltration device and method for the removal of excess fluid in hypervolemic patients and/or removal of toxins in the blood including for patients suffering from either renal or cardiovascular disease is disclosed. An embodiment of the device includes a housing containing multiple large bore hollow fiber membranes which are connected to the patient's vascular system via a connecting element comprising bifurcated fluid pathway elements to physiologically channel the blood flow either to or from each hollow fiber membrane of the device, a channel to direct the fluid removed by the device to a suitable collection container or the patient's bladder, and controls that control excessive removal of the water from the patient. Devices can be either worn extracorporeally or surgically implanted in order to allow for continuous fluid removal with ambulatory freedom.09-17-2009

20080289367Automatic threading device - A strand forming and chopping apparatus includes a bushing for forming a continuous strand, a size applicator for applying a size to the strand, a chopping device for chopping the strand into individual segments and a thread-up apparatus for directing the strand into the chopping device. The thread-up apparatus includes a cot incorporating a cot shoe and a strand guide displaceable between a rest position and a thread-up position where the strand guide holds the strand in a feed position from which the strand is engaged by the cot shoe and delivered to the chopping device.11-27-2008
20100218907Non-Dried Continuous Bulk Packaged Roving For Long Fiber Thermoplastics And A System For Collecting Same - The formation and bulk packaging of continuous wet roving is provided. Glass fibers are attenuated from a bushing, gathered into a roving, and collected as a loose, wet mass in a container assembly. A rotating deflector assembly is used to reduce the velocity of the wet roving in-line and to direct the wet continuous roving into the container. The deflector is formed of a plurality of fingers extending radially from a central hub. The curved end of the fingers permits both for the capture and easy release of the roving from the deflector. A stripper assembly may be used to remove the wet continuous roving from the fingers. After being released from the fingers, the wet roving is permitted to fall into the container assembly under the force of gravity. The wet bulk continuous roving can be utilized in various processes that form long fiber thermoplastics and reinforced composite articles.09-02-2010
