20110196546SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DEMAND RESPONSE AND DISTRIBUTED ENERGY RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - Techniques are described for incorporating distribution network analysis in the demand response scheduling process. In one example, a method includes receiving demand response (DR) request from a DR initiator, transmitting the DR request to an aggregator, for each customer, receiving customer location information and a customer DR value from the aggregator, aggregating DR at a distribution transformer in a distribution system, determining if there are any violations in the distribution system, determining an aggregated DR value for each electric node affected by the DR request, and transmitting each determined DR value to the DR initiator.08-11-2011

20090132460Tailoring Medication to Individual Characteristics - Disclosed is a medical outcome prediction tool that predicts an individual patient's medical outcomes by identifying patients having a same disease; selecting a set of characteristics unique to an individual; determining the similarities between the individual and other cases; and calculating the expected outcome for the individual that is proportional to a weighted sum of outcomes of similar cases. The similarities can be determined by calculating the number of matches between the individual and cases over the set of characteristics, and using that result to determine a similarity score.05-21-2009

20100295718Person-Borne Improvised Explosive Device Detection - A system includes a multi-system approach to detecting concealed weapons and person borne improvised explosive devices (PBIED). A first and second radar system operate at different center frequencies to provide, respectively, isolation of a target of interest from clutter and fine detail information on the target, such as whether the target is a living person, whether a concealed object may be present, material composition of the object, and shape, size, and position of the target relative to the system. Circular polarized radar beam may be used to distinguish a suspect object from within a crowd of people. Radar image of the object may be overlaid on visual image of a person carrying the object. Radar tracking of the object is coordinated with visual tracking of the target provided by a camera system, with visual display and tracking of the target overlaid with the radar information.11-25-2010
20100327970Transmission Line Distributed Oscillator - In one embodiment, an integrated circuit antenna array includes: a substrate, a plurality of antennas adjacent the substrate; and an RF network adjacent the substrate, the RF feed network coupling to a distributed plurality of amplifiers integrated with the substrate, wherein the RF feed network and the distributed plurality of amplifiers are configured to form a resonant network such that if a timing signal is injected into an input port of the RF network, the resonant network oscillates to provide a globally synchronized RF signal to each of the antennas.12-30-2010
20110068865V-Band High-Power Transmitter With Integrated Power Combiner - A wireless communications system includes a first multiplexer distribution network fed by a radio frequency input; a plurality of multi-stage power amplifiers fed by the first multiplexer distribution network, wherein each one of the multi-stage power amplifiers includes: a pre-distortion linearizer fed from the first distribution network; a first combiner receiving input from the pre-distortion linearizer; a second combiner; a plurality of power amplifier cells fed by the first combiner and feeding the second combiner; and a second multiplexer distribution network, wherein the second multiplexer distribution network is fed by the second combiner and feeds a radio frequency output.03-24-2011
