20100091757METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR EFFICIENT TLV MANAGEMENT - Certain embodiments provide a method for managing updates to type-length-value (TLV) parameters used in a mobile station. The method generally includes generating a TLV bitmap having a plurality of bits to indicate whether or not updates exist to a corresponding plurality of TLV parameters, generating one or more client module registration bitmaps to indicate a subset of the TLV parameters utilized by a corresponding one or more client modules running on the mobile station, updating the TLV bitmap to indicate one or more TLV parameters modified by one or more MAC management messages, identifying one or more client modules that utilize the one or more TLV parameters modified by the one or more MAC management messages, as indicated by the client module registration bitmaps, and notifying the identified client modules of the modified TLV parameters.04-15-2010
20100185910METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SETTING CID MASK LENGTH OF A HARQ-MAP/SUB-MAP POINTER IE IN WIMAX SYSTEMS - Methods and apparatus for setting the connection identifier (CID) mask length of a Hybrid Automatic Repeat-Request (HARQ)-MAP or a SUB-MAP pointer information element (IE) in a compressed downlink map (DL-MAP) of an orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) frame are provided in an effort to reduce the number of false indications in the CID mask, while also striving, as a secondary concern, to reduce the CID mask length. In this manner, an individual mobile station (MS) may not waste processing, battery power, or time interpreting a HARQ-MAP message or a sub downlink/uplink map (SUB-DL-UL-MAP) message that was not intended for this particular MS. For some embodiments where the CID mask length is set to be small, the control overhead (i.e., the size of the HARQ-MAP or the SUB-MAP pointer IE) may be decreased, and more of the OFDMA frame may be available for data traffic.07-22-2010
20100188965METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR WIMAX BROADCASTING MESSAGES PROCESSING - Certain embodiments of the present disclosure propose a technique that may be utilized to accelerate the processing of MAC management messages by an MS, allowing the MS to return to a lower power state sooner, thereby conserving power. An indication of whether or not data bursts in a downlink (DL) sub-frame contain MAC management messages may allow the MS to avoid needlessly processing of data bursts and return to a low power state sooner.07-29-2010
20100189070METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR COMBINING SERVICE FLOW ADDITION/CHANGE WITH HANDOVER IN WIMAX SYSTEMS - The present disclosure proposes a method for incorporating a procedure of adding/changing a service flow of a mobile station into a handover process in order to avoid problem that the mobile station can handover to a neighbor base station that do not support the requested service flow operation. Furthermore, the proposed disclosure can reduce the processing delay by combining the handover process of the mobile station and the procedure of adding/changing the service flow.07-29-2010
20100208640METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR BROADCASTING ALERT AND SYNCHRONIZATION - Methods and apparatus for waking a mobile station (MS) from a power saving mode to receive a media access control (MAC) management message (e.g., DCD/UCD, MOB_NBR-ADV, and SII-ADV) the MS has not yet received. The MS may wake from the power saving mode after detecting a mismatch between a set of media access control (MAC) management message parameters last received by the MS and the information found in an enhanced broadcast control pointer information element (BCP-IE) transmitted in a downlink map (DL-MAP). In this manner, the MS may be prevented from waking up unnecessarily, thereby providing high power efficiency.08-19-2010
20100240420METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CHANGING PAGING PARAMETERS IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A base station and a subscriber station may negotiate paging parameters so that the subscriber station can enter idle mode. After the subscriber station has entered idle mode, the base station may change at least one paging parameter at the base station. The base station may direct the subscriber station to change at least one paging parameter at the subscriber station after the subscriber station has entered idle mode. The subscriber station may change at least one paging parameter at the subscriber station after the subscriber station has entered idle mode.09-23-2010
20100278151METHODS AND SYSTEMS USING EFFICIENT RANGING MESSAGE TRANSMISSION DURING INITIAL RANGING - Techniques for efficient transmission of messages in a ranging procedure between a mobile station (MS) and a base station (BS) are provided. The techniques may allow efficient bandwidth allocation for the ranging procedure.11-04-2010
20110044238METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR UPDATING CHANNEL DESCRIPTOR INFORMATION IN WIMAX NETWORKS - This application provides techniques for updating channel descriptor (CD) information in a wireless communications system.02-24-2011
20110045849METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RECOVERING FROM AN INCOMPLETE IDLE MODE ENTRY - This application provides techniques for a mobile station (MS) to determine whether a base station (BS) successfully receives a response to a BS request for the MS to enter an idle mode.02-24-2011
