20110053156SMALL CELL LUNG CARCINOMA BIOMARKER PANEL - The invention relates generally to the field of cancer detection, diagnosis, subtyping, staging, prognosis, treatment and prevention. More particularly, the present invention relates to methods for the detection, and/or diagnosing and/or subtyping and/or staging of lung cancer in a patient. Based on a particular panel of biomarkers, the present invention provides methods to detect, diagnose at an early stage and/or differentiate small cell lung cancer (SCLC) from non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and within NSCLC to differentiate between squamous cell carcinomas (SCC), adenocarcinomas (AC), within SCC to discriminate G2 and G3 stage and within lung cancer to differentiate for lung cancers with or without neuroendocrine origin. It further provides the use of said panel of biomarkers in monitoring disease progression in a patient, including both in vitro and in vivo imaging techniques. The in vitro imaging techniques typically include an immunoassay detecting protein or antibody of the biomarkers on a sample taken from said patient, e.g. serum or tissue sample. The in vivo imaging techniques typically include chest radiographs (X-rays), Computed Tomography (CT) imaging, spiral CT, Positron Emission Tomography (PET), PET-CT and scintigraphy for molecular imaging and diagnosis and to monitor disease progression and treatment response in patients. It is accordingly a further aspect to provide a kit to perform the aforementioned diagnosing and/or subtyping and/or staging assay and the imaging techniques, comprising reagents to determine the gene expression or protein level of the aforementioned panel of biomarkers for in vitro and in vivo applications.03-03-2011

20110124519METHOD OF ASSESSING KIDNEY FUNCTION IN A HUMAN SUBJECT - A method of assessing kidney function in a human subject to aid in the diagnosis of renal tubule diseases or conditions specific to a particular renal tubule region, comprises contacting a urine sample from said subject with a panel of capture molecules, each capture molecule being capable of binding to a specific biomarker from at least one of the four major regions of the renal tubule, in particular the proximal, distal, collecting duct and loop of Henle regions, the detection of one or more biomarkers in the urine sample being indicative of damage in a corresponding region of the renal tubule. The method facilitates inter alia the non-invasive detection of renal tubule damage and serves as a prognostic method to determine the level of tubule damage and monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic treatment.05-26-2011

20090245019Method and system for determining geodetic positions of towed marine sensor array components - A method for determining positions of geophysical sensor streamers includes towing laterally spaced apart streamers maintained in relative relationship therebetween by paravanes proximate their forward ends. The streamers include spaced apart acoustic transmitters and acoustic receivers. The paravanes each include an acoustic transmitter or receiver. Signals are sent from the acoustic transmitters and are received at the acoustic receivers. Geodetic position signals are detected at each paravane. The identities of the transmitters of the received acoustic signals are determined to determine travel times of the received acoustic signals. The travel times are converted to distances between the identified transmitters and the receivers. Relative positions of the streamers are determined from the distances. The relative positions of the streamers are combined with the detected geodetic position signals to determine geodetic positions of the streamers.10-01-2009
