20110137496METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY CONTROLLING AIRCRAFT FLIGHT CONTROL TRIM SYSTEMS - An automatic trim system and method is disclosed for automatically trimming a flight control surface of an aircraft. A force sensor measures a force applied by a pilot to a flight control system actuator. The length of time that the force is applied by the pilot is then timed by a tinier. A trim system to reduce the applied force is included on the flight control surfaces. A processor determines if trim is required if a predetermined amount of time is exceeded based on the force sensor measurement. The processor can set the trim system to the trim required therein. An airspeed sensor is used to verify that the aircraft has sufficient speed for flight. A force sensor can be utilized to measure the input force being applied by the pilot. If a pilot input force is applied to the controls and the aircraft is in a steady state, a timer can be activated. If the force sensor continues to sense a force after the tinier times for a predetermined time, the trim can he adjusted in the appropriate direction until the force sensor measures no significant pilot input force.06-09-2011

20100039214CELLPHONE DISPLAY TIME-OUT BASED ON SKIN CONTACT - A system and methodology that can optimize screen time-outs on a portable electronic device based on user activity is provided. The system employs a sensing component that receives data from one or more sensors located on the portable electronic device, for example, skin conductivity sensors. The sensing component determines whether the user is using the portable device, either actively or passively. A configuring component is employed to change one or more features or functions of the portable electronic device based on the information determined by the sensing component. In particular, the configuring component initiates a screen time-out when the user is not using the portable device (neither actively nor passively).02-18-2010
20100039392CONDUCTIVE FINGERNAIL - A device and attachment connected to a user's fingernail that can be employed to interact with a conductive touch screen is provided. Specifically, the device is made from a conductive material and provides conductivity to the screen when in contact. The device is connected to or placed on the user's fingernail, or worn on top of the user's finger or glove. When the user touches the conductive touch screen via the device on the finger, a disturbance in capacitance is created and accordingly the presence and/or location of the finger on the screen can be detected.02-18-2010
20100039393TEXT ENTRY ON TOUCH SCREEN CELLPHONES BY DIFFERENT PRESSURE LEVELS - A system and methodology that can enter different text based on an amount of pressure exerted on a key of an electronic device is provided. The system employs one or more sensors located on the key to collect pressure data. A pressure detection component selects text associated with the currently applied pressure. A user can modify the selected text by adjusting the pressure applied to the key. Once the desired text is selected, the user releases pressure from the key and a text entry component enters the selected text.02-18-2010
20100042827USER IDENTIFICATION IN CELL PHONES BASED ON SKIN CONTACT - A system and methodology that can customize screen time-outs on a portable electronic device based on user activity is provided. The system employs a sensing component that receives data from one or more sensors located on the portable electronic device, for example, skin conductivity sensors. The sensing component determines whether the user is using the portable device, either actively or passively and also determines the identity of the user. A configuring component is employed to change one or more features or functions of the portable electronic device based on the information determined by the sensing component. In particular, the configuring component changes one of more features of the portable electronic device based on the preferences predefined by the identified user and device usage (active and passive usage).02-18-2010
20100118748Video Share Model-Based Video Fixing - Systems and methods for model-based video fixing are disclosed. A video can be retrieved and analyzed to determine if any portion of the video can be represented by a model. If a portion that can be modeled is identified, a model that approximates the portion can be specified, the portion can be removed from the video, and instructions for modeling the video can be formatted. The video and the instructions can be transmitted to a receiving device, which can synthesize the model and the received video to generate a model-based video. Systems for providing the model-based video fixing are also disclosed.05-13-2010
