20090032581STORED VALUE CARD TRANSACTION CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS - A gift card processing system which includes a database storing interval information representing a required interval between transactions using the gift card. The database also stores data representing the maximum amount of each transaction. The gift card processing system is part of a network that includes POS terminals at merchant locations, where the gift card may be presented. A card ID is read from the card at a POS terminal and used to access the interval data and the maximum transaction amount data.02-05-2009
20090254480SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING GIFT FRAUD - A gift card uses a fraud code stored on a magnetic stripe of the card to prevent fraudulent transactions. When the gift card is purchased at a POS terminal at a merchant location, a gift card account number stored on the magnetic stripe is read, and sent to a gift card system. The gift card system activates the card and generates the fraud code and returns it to the POS terminal, where a card encoder writes the fraud code onto the magnetic stripe. When the gift card is used to conduct a transaction, the transaction is permitted only if a valid fraud code is stored on the magnetic stripe.10-08-2009

20090118956Method for supporting a brake system in case of reduced effectiveness - Disclosed is a method for increasing the braking effect in a motor vehicle with a hydraulic brake system. In the method, in case of a reduced effectiveness of the brake system, a brake pressure in at least one wheel brake is increased by switching on an energy supply unit. A check is made whether a brake pressure (p05-07-2009
20110270500Method for Supporting a Brake System in Case of Reduced Effectiveness of the Vehicle Brake System - Disclosed is a method for increasing the braking effect in a motor vehicle having a hydraulic brake system. An energy supply unit, which is used to increase the brake pressure in at least one wheel brake, is switched on when the brake pressure adjusted by the driver in a master brake cylinder exceeds a first activation threshold value, which is determined depending on a detected vehicle deceleration, and the energy supply unit is switched off when the brake pressure reaches a predetermined bottom threshold value at a specific instant. According to the method, within an interval beginning at that specific instant, it is checked whether the brake pressure (p11-03-2011

20090205215MINIMUM CLEARANCE BORE GAUGE - A method of measuring an interior diameter of a bore with an expandible gauge having relatively movable first and second components and placing an adhesive on at least one of the first and the second components for adhesively bonding the first and the second components to one another. Inserting the expandible gauge into a tool hole in a bore bar and sliding the bore bar into the bore so that the tool hole is located within the bore. Allowing the expandible gauge to expand to a diameter of a bore to be measured and adhesively bond the first and the second components to one another. Removing the expandable gauge and determining the diameter of the bore by measuring a length of the expandible gauge.08-20-2009
20090277316GROOVE CUTTING ASSEMBLY - A groove cutting assembly comprising a cutter housing, a cutter assembly with a cutting edge, and the cutter assembly being accommodated by the cutter housing, and a drive mechanism, coupled to the cutter assembly, for indexing the cutter assembly one of radially inward and radially outward relative to the cutter housing upon rotation of the cutter assembly past an indexing member. The drive mechanism comprises a barrel assembly, engaged with the cutter assembly, and a feed member which threadedly engages with the barrel assembly. Rotation of the feed member, in a first rotational direction, indexes the cutter assembly radially outwardly away from the cutter housing, while rotation of the feed member, in an opposite rotational direction, indexes the cutter assembly radially inwardly toward the cutter housing.11-12-2009
20100189522FEED MECHANISM FOR A BORING BAR - A boring bar feed mechanism comprising a boring bar and a rotation mechanism for rotating the boring bar, a feed shaft, a feed coupling the feed shaft with the boring bar for axially translating the boring bar, and the boring bar is rotationally mounted with respect to but axially fixed to a second end of the feed coupler. A cam is rotationally fixed to the boring bar for rotating with the boring bar and a cam follower interacts with the cam. A plunger housing is supported by an extension of the cam follower and the plunger housing accommodates at least one feed plunger. A converter gear is supported by the feed shaft and the feed plunger interacts with the converter gear to facilitate indexing of the converter gear. The plunger housing is pivotally supported by the extension of the cam follower to permit the plunger housing and the feed plunger to have a limited pivoted motion, relative to the cam follower, as the cam follower oscillates back and forth and indexes the feed shaft.07-29-2010
20110024394BORE WELDING DEVICE WITH WORM DRIVE AND ADJUSTABLE CLAMPING SPINDLE - A bore welding mechanism comprising a casing having spindle bushings rotationally and axially supporting a rotatable and axially translatable spindle for supporting a bore repair mechanism in alignment with a bore. The spindle has an axially extending keyway and a worm gear thread extending for at least a part of a length of the spindle. A spindle drive gear is coupled to the spindle by a drive key engaging with the keyway of the spindle so that the spindle is rotationally fixed to the spindle drive gear and axially translatable with respect to the spindle drive gear. A drive shaft extends through the casing, transversely to and offset from an axis of the spindle, and includes a drive shaft worm gear rotationally fixed to the drive shaft. The worm gear engages with the spindle drive gear to rotate the spindle drive gear and the spindle due to rotation of the drive shaft.02-03-2011
