| 20090191218 | DNA Vaccines And Methods For The Prevention Of Transplantation Rejection - Methods for preventing, delaying the onset of, or treating rejection of an allograft using a DNA vaccine, where the vaccine can comprise a polynucleotide encoding a pro-apoptotic protein, like BAX and/or a polynucleotide encoding an autoantigen or donor antigen, like secreted glutamic acid decarboxylase 55. Administering one of the DNA vaccines to a transplant recipient, as described herein, can induce a donor specific tolerogenic response. | 07-30-2009 |
| 20100068813 | APOPTOTIC CELL-MEDIATED TRANSFECTION OF MAMMALIAN CELLS WITH INTERFERING RNA - Mammalian host cells for use in a cell-mediated tranfection process, which contain an RNAi molecule and an expression vector for a pro-apoptotic protein. The method includes inducing apoptotic cell (AC) death in mammalian cells that contain an RNAi molecule capable of downregulating a chosen target gene. Living cells expressing the target gene are then exposed to the ACs. The ACs are processed by the living cells, and the RNAi molecule in the ACs downregulates the expression of the target gene in living cells. | 03-18-2010 |

| 20090121148 | High Brightness Solid State Ion Beam Generator, its use, and Method for Making such a Generator - Ion sources or generators for focused ion beam emission (FIB) applications emitting ion beams into vacuum or a gas are used in industry and research for the characterization and processing of surfaces. With appropriate focusing, such ion beams can be confined to diameters of a few nanometers. The tip of technical FIB generators for producing such focused beams consists of a liquid metal, gallium in general, which tends to fluctuate during operation. This has a negative influence on the stability of the emission current and the focus definition. It is also possible to generate an FIB with solid tips, consisting of a solid metal, but such tips deteriorate rapidly during operation due to erosion of material from the tip apex. The present invention concerns a novel FIB source generating free space ion beams from a solid source but does not exhibit the above-mentioned erosion effect at the apex. The novel FIB generator consists of a combination of two essentially unitary bodies, a solid electrolyte body with a sharp tip and a solid ion reservoir body, both bodies having close contact with each other. The reservoir is made of or contains the same material, in general a metal as the mobile ions. Loss of ions from the electrolyte body due to emission is compensated by an inflow of ions from the reservoir body during operation. This practically preserves electro-neutrality which is a precondition for continuous mode operation. Erosion of the tip of the electrolyte body does not occur since the counter ions form a solid matrix and the emitted ions are replenished during operation. | 05-14-2009 |

| 20110236174 | Floating vessel for servicing air diffusers - A catamaran type vessel for use in a wastewater facility for servicing submerged air diffusers is disclosed. The vessel has spaced apart pontoon having an A-frame spanning between the upper decks of the pontoon and connecting the pontoons. A hook connected to a winch is secured to a cross header above the space between the pontoons. The hook is lowered into water and lifts an air header, to which the air diffusers are connected. An air diffuser is then pulled on the pontoons and serviced. The vessel is then propelled to a position to service other air diffusers in the pontoon. | 09-29-2011 |
