20090107221HARDNESS TESTER WITH INDENTER OF HARD METAL OR COMPOUND AND OSCILLATING CROWN FOR TESTING AT HIGH LOAD AND METHOD OF COMPARATIVE ASSESMENT OF THE HARDNESS/DEPTH PROFILE - A device for detecting the depth of penetration of the tip of an indenter of a hardness tester has a terminal crown turnable and slantable with respect to a cylindrical body of a reference sleeve, terminating with two spikes extending from diametrically opposed positions of a circular end surface of the terminal crown, the vertexes of which bear on the surface of the piece to be tested. The terminal crown having an end retained within the body of the sleeve and an inner circular surface defining a cuspid along a diameter orthogonal to the diameter of alignment of said two spikes, abutting on a planar circular end surface of the retaining body of the sleeve such to determine a linear or fulcrum abutment along diametrically aligned vertexes of said cuspid. The tester uses an indenter of a hard metal or compound by periodically recalibrating a hardness tester in function of said depth of penetration originally established on a reference sample of known and homogenous hardness. A method of deriving a hardness profile in terms of Vickers points for a certain depth by using the hardness tester is also described.04-30-2009

20080273773Three-dimensional modeling of the oral cavity - A method for creating three-dimensional models of intra-oral scenes and features. The intra-oral scene is illuminated by a two-dimensional array of structured illumination points, with anti-aliasing achieved by using stored two-dimensional patterns of pixels for anti-aliasing. Using a single camera to form images reduces the amount of apparatus necessary to introduce into the patient's mouth. Three-dimensional models are obtained from the single image by triangulation with a stored image of the structured illumination onto a reference surface such as a plane. Alternative methods include the use of “bar-coded” one-dimensional patterns.11-06-2008
20100179420SUPPLEMENTAL SCENE REFERENCE SURFACE DEVICES FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL MAPPING - Supplemental reference surface devices are provided for use in three-dimensional modeling of intra-oral scenes using identifiable positional characteristics from structured illumination or other techniques. Reference surface devices having at least one substantially plane smooth non-polished face are disclosed for locating the positions of intra-oral features, and for stitching together separate 3D tiles according to the identifiable positional characteristics. Reference surface devices include a mounting point of known position relative to the faces, which can be attached to an intra-oral feature in or adjacent to the imaged intra-oral scene. Disclosed are reference surface devices having orientation and position indicia, as well as reference surface devices having a multiplicity of faces distributed in spatial position and angular orientation to facilitate correlation of 2D images obtained by imaging systems in different positions. Sizes of the faces of reference surface devices are optimized for resolving patterns of identifiable positional characteristics while providing suitable spatial and angular distributions.07-15-2010
20110273443SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING OF A THREE-DIMENSIONAL SCENE FEATURES - A method and a system for three-dimensional modeling of a three-dimensional scene features, are described. According to the present invention, a reference-image is captured from a known angle while an array of two-dimensional random patterns is projected onto a reference surface from another known angle. The reference image is turned in relation to the reference surface. Then, an image of the scene is captured while the array of two-dimensional random patterns is projected onto it from the same angles. By matching the patterns of these images and measuring the movement between the two projected patterns, the third dimension is computed using triangulation techniques.11-10-2011

20090285093INTERACTIVE MPLS TRAFFIC ENGINEERING - An interactive system and method automates the control and management of routing changes that are focused on specific routes or particular network hot spots. Based on the premise that the user is aware of a particular problem that needs to be solved, the system leads the user through an end-to-end process from the identification of the problem to the generation of configuration instructions for effecting a selected solution. A graphic user interface provides a visualization of the current routing and alternative routings, to facilitate the analysis and selection of an improved routing, if any. Throughout the process, the effect of each proposed routing change on the overall network performance is determined, so that the selection of a preferred solution can be made in the appropriate context, and globally sub-optimal solutions can be avoided.11-19-2009

20110177258METHOD AND DEVICE FOR WIPING LIQUID COATING METAL AT THE OUTLET OF A TEMPERING METAL COATING TANK - A method and device disclose how to drain a liquid coating metal from the two sides of a running steel strip. The method transfers a strip coated with a liquid coating metal, as it runs at the tank outlet, from a region not subjected to a magnetic field to another region subjected to a static magnetic field generated between the poles of magnetic members arranged opposite each other on either side of the strip and having field lines, or at least a main shell of the field lines, intersecting with the strip over at least one minimum longitudinal extent so that the liquid coating metal is correlatively subjected to a magnetic field variation generating on the liquid metal a force opposite to the running direction. Due to the low field variation, this magnetic braking effect generates little Foucault current in the strip.07-21-2011
