20080235887Pool cleaner with high pressure cleaning jets - A pool cleaner includes a housing and a pump means for drawing water and debris through an intake port into a filter. A jet-valve housing having a jet-valve flap is mounted in a valve-chamber disposed over the pump means to direct a propulsion jet stream from the pump to one of a pair of opposing propulsion outlets formed in the jet-valve housing to move the cleaner in a forward direction. The valve-chamber has a wedge-shaped apex with a pair of opposing pins configured for pivotally mounting the jet-valve flap. A spring is disposed between the top portion of the jet-valve flap and the chamber apex to force the jet-valve flap to pivot between the opposing propulsion outlets when the pump is temporarily powered off to change the direction of cleaning. Upon restoring power to the pump, water from the pump closes the previously opened propulsion outlet and opens the previously closed propulsion outlet to propel the cleaner in a forward direction that is opposite to the previous direction.10-02-2008
20080236628Pool cleaner with high pressure cleaning jets - A pool cleaning apparatus includes a housing and a pump for drawing water and debris through an intake port into a filter. A jet-valve housing having a jet valve flap is mounted over the pump to direct a propulsion jet stream from the pump to move the cleaner in a forward direction. A cleaning nozzle is mounted over each of the front and rear portions of the housing, and a pressurized water jet stream is directed at a first pool surface beneath the cleaner through the front end nozzle while moving in a forward direction. When the cleaner engages a second pool surface substantially perpendicular to the first surface, propulsion outlets of the jet valve housing are partially closed to redirect a portion of the propulsion jet stream to the front-end nozzle to lift the front end of the cleaner off the first surface. When the front end of the cleaner disengages from contact with the second surface, the propulsion outlets open to permit the propulsion jet stream to propel the cleaner along the second surface.10-02-2008
20090237813WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE WITH MAGNIFYING LENS - A wireless communication device, preferably in the form of a telephone having a housing and an information display screen for displaying information associated with at least wireless communications, wherein the information display screen is positioned on a surface of the housing. A magnifying lens is mounted in a first position with respect to the information display screen for magnifying information displayed on the information display screen. A user can adjust the magnifying lens to a second position that is distally located from the information display screen for magnifying objects distally located from the wireless communication device.09-24-2009
20100058546Pool cleaner baseplate with inlet extension members and recessed wheels - A baseplate for a robotic self-propelled pool cleaner having one or more inlet openings through which water-borne debris passes prior to filtration is provided with downwardly depending inlet extension members having walls that define an opening corresponding in shape to the baseplate inlet opening and that are mounted in close-fitting relation to extend the water intake opening towards, but without touching, the pool surface to increase the suction force at the surface. The baseplate optionally includes a rotatable wheel mounted in an inboard recess in the baseplate on, or adjacent to the longitudinal centerline of the cleaner to facilitate passage over obstacles that would immobilize the pool cleaner by contact with an inlet extension member.03-11-2010
20110056031Automated swimming pool cleaner with projecting pivot members for changing direction of movement at an adjacent side wall of a pool - A self-propelled apparatus for cleaning the submerged bottom surfaces of a pool or tank in a predetermined regular pattern includes a reversible drive means for propelling the apparatus in opposite directions corresponding to the longitudinal axis of the apparatus. A housing is formed by front and rear walls and depending side portions defining the periphery of the apparatus. A plurality of supporting wheels are coupled to the housing to enable motion of the apparatus. A projecting pivot member extends beyond the periphery of the the housing from at least one of the supporting wheels, wherein the end of the projecting pivot member serves as a pivot point when it contacts an adjacent side wall of the pool to change the orientation of the apparatus with respect to the side wall of the pool.03-10-2011
20110067729DIRECTIONAL CONTROL FOR DUAL BRUSH ROBOTIC POOL CLEANERS - A self-propelled robotic pool cleaner (03-24-2011
20110271983Automated swimming pool cleaner having an angled jet drive propulsion system - A self-propelled cleaning apparatus for cleaning a submerged surface of a pool or tank includes a housing having a front portion as defined by the direction of movement of the apparatus when propelled by a water jet, an opposing rear portion and adjoining side portions defining the periphery of the apparatus, and a baseplate with at least one water inlet. Rotationally-mounted supports are coupled proximate the front and rear portions of the housing to enable movement of the apparatus over the submerged surface. A water pump is configured to draw water and debris from the pool through the inlet for filtering. A stationary directional discharge conduit is in fluid communication with the pump and has at least one discharge opening through which a pressurized stream of water forming the water jet is directionally discharged at an acute angle with respect to the surface over which the apparatus is moving.11-10-2011
