20090091915Illumination device with mechanically adjustable color conversion system - A mechanically adjustable color conversion system for illumination devices comprised of light sources oriented linearly or in an array located under a fluorescent dyed clear or defused plastic element which has holes that carefully align with the light sources, dyed element which can be moved thru some simple mechanical fashion in such a way that there can be careful control of the light that goes directly thru the hole in one extreme or that progressively goes less thru the hole and more thru the fluorescent dyed element until all the light goes thru the dyed element at the other extreme thus allowing for the simple mechanical adjustment of the color or hue of light from the light source.04-09-2009
20090091931Illumination device with side aimed light source and two step light dispersion - A two step process of light manipulation to obtain an even toned linear light from point sources of light. This process obtained by taking evenly space particular point sources of light (element A) delivering essentially 100% of their light into the side of an adjacent clear rod (element B). The light turns 90 degrees and travels down the clear rod (element B) in what is called a “waveguide” effect. Adjacent and parallel to A and 90 degrees turned from B is element C, a diffusing rod like member. A, B and C form a triad with A and C in separate contact with B. A and C oriented more or less 90 degrees to each other with B as the pivot point. The triad of A, B and C are contained in a channel where only C sticks out half way. Light from B illuminates C which finishes evening out the light and delivers the final bright even tone of light beyond the containing channel thru the exposed portion of element C.04-09-2009

20080281693METHODS OF FINANCING CONSTRUCTION AND SALES OF REAL PROPERTY - Financial instruments incentivize the development of low income real property by retaining profitability similar to property sold at fair market value. A REEIP is proposed wherein investors profit by receiving units of real property at a substantial discount that may be subsequently sold or rented after title passes to the investor. A construction fees, costs, or tax instrument are built into each real property unit and issued as a second or subsequent mortgage for all fees and compliance costs, which allows the purchaser of the real property to purchase the real property at a discount by removing the fees and compliance costs from the purchase price of the real property. Finally, real property may be sold to qualifying low income purchasers by allowing a developer to gradually turn over equity in a low income home to the purchaser over a predetermined time period, which is secured by a forgivable mortgage.11-13-2008

20100200068DYNAMIC PURGE SYSTEM FOR A HEAT RECOVERY WHEEL - An automatically operable dynamic purge system that is incorporated into a heat recovery wheel that comprises a number of radial seals that direct a controlled area of supply air into the exhaust air stream passing through the heat recovery wheel. Two possible configurations include a single purge and a double purge. For the single purge, one seal is fixed in location on one face of the wheel and a second seal is dynamic and is on the opposite face. For the double purge, two seals are fixed in location on one face of the wheel and a third seal is dynamic and is on the opposite face. In each case the dynamic seal is secured by an automatically operable wiper blade. This wiper blade is attached near the center of the wheel such that it rotates, in turn, allowing the seal to rotate whilst remaining approximately radial to the wheel.08-12-2010

20090121141IMPLEMENTATION OF WAVELENGTH SHIFTERS IN PHOSWICH DETECTORS - A phoswich device for determining depth of interaction (DOI) includes a wavelength shifting layer between first and second scintillators of different scintillation materials and having different decay time characteristics. The wavelength shifting layer allows a true phoswich device to be constructed where the emission wavelength of one scintillator is in the peak excitation band of the other scintillator, by shifting the scintillation light outside of this excitation band to prevent scintillation light of one scintillator from exciting a response in the other scintillator, thus enabling unique identification of the location of a gamma photon scintillation event. The phoswich device is particularly applicable to positron emission tomography (PET) applications.05-14-2009
20100078595USE OF CODOPING TO MODIFY THE SCINTILLATION PROPERTIES OF INORGANIC SCINTILLATORS DOPED WITH TRIVALENT ACTIVATORS - Crystals with improved scintillation and optical properties are achieved by codoping with a trivalent dopant and a divalent and/or a monovalent dopant. Embodiments include codoping LSO, YSO, GSO crystals and LYSO, LGSO, and LYGSO crystals. Embodiments also include codoped crystals with a controlled monovalent or divalent:trivalent dopant ratio of from about 1:1 for increased light yield to about 4:1 for faster decay time.04-01-2010
20100090114IMPLEMENTATION OF COLORED WAVELENGTH SHIFTERS IN PHOSWICH DETECTORS - A phoswich device for determining depth of interaction (DOI) includes a first scintillator having a first scintillation decay time characteristic, a second scintillator having a second scintillation decay time characteristic substantially equal to the first scintillation decay time, a photodetector coupled to the second scintillator, and a wavelength shifting layer coupled between the first scintillator and the second scintillator, wherein the wavelength shifting layer modifies the first scintillation decay time characteristic of the first scintillator to enable the photodetector to differentiate between the first decay time characteristic and the second decay time characteristic. The phoswich device is particularly applicable to positron emission tomography (PET) applications.04-15-2010
