20090033546FIELD PROBE FROM THE ANGULAR RESPONSE OF A RIGID BODY - Probing incident radar fields in a target test zone of a RCS test facility by exploiting angular radar response of a long and uniform rigid body supported horizontally across or vertically through the test zone. The rigid body is free to rotate about the broadside condition. Thus, the angle of the rigid body is gradually changed with respect to the direction of arrival of the incident wave. Radar echo from the rigid body is measured as a function of the rigid body angle. The data is then processed to yield a profile of the incident wave intensity along the rigid body. By varying the azimuth angle continuously while recording radar data, the data may be processed by the fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm to yield a profile of the incident wave intensity along the rigid body.02-05-2009
20110084873DETERMINING CHARACTERISTICS OF A RADAR CROSS SECTION (RCS) TEST RANGE - A method for determining characteristics of a RCS test range may include vertically orienting a field probe including an elongated rigid body at a predetermined location within the RCS test range. The method may also include generating incident radar waves at a selected frequency and polarization and pivoting the field probe in a vertical direction broadside to the incident radar waves. The method may additionally include receiving return radar data scattered by the field probe during pivoting of the field probe. The method may further include determining a field distribution along the elongated rigid body of the field probe from the return radar data to determine characteristics of the RCS test range.04-14-2011

20100235968BELT EXTENDER - A belt extender for installation on a belt with a removable buckle comprising a main body with a first end and a second end, a metal tab fixedly attached to and extending from a first end of the main body of the belt extender, and a longitudinal slot roughly centrally disposed on the main body of the belt extender. The main body folds over itself at a fold line that extends through the center of the longitudinal slot and is secured in place with snap fasteners to create a folded end. A belt buckle comprising a tongue and a frame is installed on the folded end of the belt extender by sliding the frame of the belt buckle over the second end of the belt extender and inserting the tongue through the longitudinal slot prior to folding. The metal tab is inserted into a longitudinal slot on the buckle end of the belt strap and rotated so that the main body of the belt extender is aligned with the belt strap on the buckle end of the belt.09-23-2010

20120109792INSTANT TAX RETURN PREPARATION - A method involves generating a partially completed tax return based on basic user information without needing to obtain other user inputs through an extensive user interview. A list of simple and concise interview questions are generated or selected from an interview question collection based on the partially completed tax return to finalize the tax return. The method further involves using an inference engine to allow data collection at any time and in any order via specific, personalized questions geared toward completion of the tax return. Therefore the taxpayer spends time reviewing rather than preparing his or her tax documents.05-03-2012

20090160178CENTERING SYSTEM FOR COUPLING FOR IRRIGATION SYSTEM - A coupling for conveying fluid between a component of a fluid system and an insertion end of a conduit includes a coupling body with an internal bore. The insertion end of the conduit is introduced into a receiving end of said bore. A conduit centering structure is rigidly attached to the coupling body in axial alignment with the axis of the receiving end of the bore. A gripping mechanism fixes the position of the insertion end of the conduit in the receiving end of the bore, and a release mechanism slidable relative to the coupling body into a disengaging position induces the gripping mechanism to release the insertion end of the conduit. The conduit centering structure is a conduit guide or a conduit sleeve that projects from the coupling body within and in axial alignment with the receiving end of the bore. The first end of the guide sleeve is secured to the coupling body interior of the bore; the second end is configured with an encircling exterior bevel to enter the insertion end of a fluid conduit introduced into the coupling. The outer surface of the guide sleeve and the opposed interior surface of the bore define an annular gap configured to receive the wall of the insertion end of the conduit.06-25-2009
20090160179COUPLING RELEASE MECHANISM FOR IRRIGATION SYSTEM - A coupling for conveying fluid between a component of a fluid system and an insertion end of a fluid conduit includes a coupling body enclosing a bore with a receiving end into which the insertion end of the conduit is introduced. A gripping mechanism capable of fixing the position of the insertion end of the conduit takes the form of a spring washer seated in the receiving end of bore in coaxial encirclement of the insertion end of the conduit. The spring washer includes a plurality of radially inwardly extending fingers that flex radially outwardly to accommodate the advancement of the insertion end of the conduit through the spring washer. The fingers resile radially inwardly into seating engagement with the outer surface of the conduit at an orientation that resists withdrawal of the conduit. Plural resilient parallel release fingers extend into to form a release mechanism slidable relative to the coupling body into a disengaging position in which the release fingers induce outward flexure of fingers of the spring washer out of seating engagement with the outer surface of the conduit. A flexure relief slot is interposed between adjacent of the release fingers about the cylindrical array. In the disengaging position, the tips of adjacent of the release fingers narrow the open end of a flexure relief slot therebetween.06-25-2009
