PRINTING METHOD FOR REDUCING STITCH ERROR BETWEEN OVERLAPPING JETTING MODULES - A method of printing is described for a page-width printer including a line head having a plurality of jetting modules that are staggered in a page-width direction. In a set up procedure, a test pattern is printed using the nozzles of adjacent jetting modules, and the pattern is analyzed to detect a stitch error in the overlap regions. The results of this analysis is used to calculate a set of correction values to be applied to print data subsequently sent to nozzles of the adjacent jetting modules to make a correction for the stitch error. During a subsequent production run, the print data sent to the nozzles of the adjacent jetting modules is analyzed to sense an image content attribute, such as gray or density level, of the print data. These results of the analysis of the print data is then used to calculate a dynamic adjustment that is used to adjust the set of correction values calculated during the set up procedure. The line head is then used to print the corrected print data by applying the set of adjusted correction values to production print data subsequently sent to the jetting modules. | 01-20-2011

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR USING MANAGED PORT CIRCUITRY TO MAP CONNECTIONS AMONG STRUCTURED CABLING APPARATUS AND NETWORK DEVICES - A managed port circuit includes a detection circuit that is disposed in a communication channel between a first local port and a second local port and a controller that is coupled to the detection circuit and is operable to configure the detection circuit in a detection configuration in which the first and second local ports are connected to the controller and a second pass through configuration in which the first and second local ports are connected to each other via the communication channel, the controller being further operable to determine when an end device is connected to one of the first and second local ports when the detection circuit is in the detection configuration. | 12-25-2008
Network Switch with Integrated Cable Termination Locations - A network switch that can directly receive and connect to telecommunications cables includes: a body; a first panel mounted to the body; a first plurality of ports located in the first panel, each of the first plurality of ports configured to receive a telecommunications cable; a second panel mounted to the body; a second plurality of ports located in the second panel, each of the second plurality of ports configured to receive a patch cord; and electronic circuitry housed in the body for conducting network switching operations, the electronic circuitry being connected with the first plurality of ports and the second plurality of ports. Such a network switch can receive a cable directly, rather than requiring an intermediate patch panel, and therefore can simplify either an interconnect or a cross-connect telecommunications system. | 10-21-2010

BALANCING APPARATUS FOR A SURGICAL MICROSCOPE - A balancing apparatus for a surgical microscope is suggested for balancing an optics carrier that is held via a pivot support at a stand. The apparatus comprises a Y displacement unit comprising a first slide for displacement of the optics carrier in a Y direction and a Z displacement unit comprising a second slide for displacement of the optics carrier in a Z direction. Both slides are driven by motors. A selector switch enables an operator to select powering either the first motor or the second motor; and a forward-reverse switch enables the operator to select either the forward or the reverse driving mode for the motor powered by the selector switch and consequently establish the forward or the reverse driving mode for the first or second slide, respectively. | 09-03-2009

Electronic Refueling and Vent Control System with Integrated Control - A modification to the vent control system of a fluid tank is provided. More particularly, an electronically controlled vent control system used in connection with a fuel tank is provided. The vent control system disclosed is operable to automatically sense the beginning of a fueling event and to open a venting valve allowing fuel to enter the tank. Subsequently, as the fuel reaches a predetermined fill level, the vent control system is operable to automatically close the venting valve, halting the flow of fuel into the tank. | 04-30-2009

FUEL PUMP SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM - A fuel pump controller includes a detecting device for detecting environmental vibrational energy and converting the environmental vibrational energy into an electrical signal. A motor controller is coupled to a fuel pump motor wherein the electrical signal is used by the controller to command the fuel pump motor to operate at one of a plurality of speeds wherein the commanded speed is at least in part a function of the environmental vibrational energy. | 08-28-2008
WHEEL CENTER CAP WITH RADIAL LOCK - A cap assembly for a wheel including a cup-shaped cap member having a plurality of annular ridges disposed around a circumference thereof, and a retainer ring having a plurality of axially extending flange portions disposed around a circumference thereof. The retainer ring is slidably coupled to the cup-shaped member, the axially extending flange portions are angled relative to a position normal to the ring, and the plurality of axially extending flange portions correspond to the plurality of annular ridges. When the cap assembly is inserted into the wheel, the retainer ring slides along the cup-shaped member and the annular ridges force the axially extending flange portions to the position normal to the ring to attach the flange portions to the wheel. | 01-22-2009
