An elongated pivoting structure is pivotally coupled to the strongback for parallel pivotal movement relative thereto. A locking mechanism locks the pivoting structure in a selected one of a plurality of angular positions relative to the strongback. At least one stores rack is coupled to the pivoting structure for receiving and coupling at least one stores item to the pivoting structure. An aerodynamic fairing may be disposed on the pylon to decrease drag. The pylon can be mounted on either side of the aircraft and in any one of a plurality of longitudinal stations, and enables the aircraft to carry stores that are too large for its equipment bays, and to carry an optimal load of stores.04-02-2009

20100091498LOW PROFILE SIDE EMISSION TIR LENS FOR LED - A low profile side-emitting lens for an LED die has two tiers of different waveguides radially extending out from a center side-emitting lens. An LED emits light into the center side-emitting lens, which has a curved surface that internally reflects the LED light outward approximately parallel to the top surface of the LED die. The center lens has a height of 2 mm, required for reflecting the LED light outward. Radially extending from the periphery of the bottom half of the center lens is a bottom tier of waveguides, each having a height of 1 mm, and radially extending from the periphery of the top half of the center lens is a top tier of waveguides, each having a height of 1 mm. The light output areas of the top and bottom tiers of waveguides are parallel with each other so that the 2 mm high side emission is reduced to a 1 mm side emission without reducing the emission area.04-15-2010

20110295882SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A COMPOSITE VIEW OBJECT AND SQL BYPASS IN A BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE SERVER - Systems and methods are described for performing a SQL bypass in a business intelligence (BI) server environment. The BI server initially receives a SQL query and constructs an extensible markup language (XML) representation of the SQL query. The XML representation is sent to an application server that hosts an application developer framework (ADF). The ADF receives the XML representation of the SQL query and constructs a composite view object at runtime, to access the appropriate data. It then generates a database-specific query based on the composite view object and returns it to the BI server. The BI server replans the database-specific query and sends it to a database storing the data.12-01-2011

20100274180Digital syringe with compensation control - A syringe for performing a medical procedure includes a pressure sensor, a volume sensor, and a compensation circuit. The volume sensor measures a volume of a flowable material that is dispensed from the syringe, the pressure sensor measures a pressure being applied to the flowable material, and the compensation circuit calculates a delivered volume of the flowable material by accounting for system compliance (expansion) as the pressure is increased. By compensating for system compliance in this manner, a syringe can be used in high pressure procedures while still providing accurately controllable material delivery.10-28-2010

20080263276METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EVALUATING AND IMPROVING DISK ACCESS TIME IN A RAID SYSTEM - Techniques for improving access time in data storage systems are disclosed. These techniques can be used to prevent undesirable access delays that are often experienced in conventional storage systems. “Slow-access” can be defined as an access operation that does not successfully complete within a predetermined amount of time. The “slow-access” time can, for example, be defined based on a system requirement, specification, or a particular need of a specific application. As such, when detected “slow-access” indicates a potential performance problem that can manifest in undesirable effects. A data storage system is evaluated for potential performance problems by scanning it for “slow-access.” In addition, preventative measures are taken to prevent occurrence of a “slow-access” once it has been identified. These measures can prevent the undesirable effects experienced in conventional storage systems. This also means that specific system or application requirements can be certified and met.10-23-2008
