20110315308METHOD FOR PRODUCING HOLLOW BODIES FROM THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL AND DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD - The invention relates to a method for producing hollow bodies from thermoplastic material, comprising the molding of at least two sheet-like, web-shaped preforms of plasticated thermoplastic material in a multi-part tool forming a cavity to form two complementary shells, and also the joining together of the shells to form a substantially closed hollow body, wherein the preforms are brought between open parts of the tool which each have part-cavities, the parts of the tool are then closed against a tool separator arranged between the preforms, and the preforms are inserted into the part-cavities with the use of differential pressure and molded. In a subsequent separate method step, the tools are reopened and internal components of the hollow body to be produced are fastened to the shells. Finally, the shells are joined together by reclosing the tools to form a closed hollow body.12-29-2011

20090294718SHUT-OFF DEVICE - The invention relates to a shut-off device comprising a housing which is to be connected to an adjacent conduit in a pressure-tight manner A tubular passage is defined in the housing for a medium flowing through the conduit. Said device also comprises at least one sealing body which can be displaced by an articulated mechanism, by means of an adjusting drive that can be moved vertically in relation to the direction of flow, from an open position into a closed position in which the sealing contour of the at least one sealing body comes into contact with the tubular passage in a radially sealing manner. The articulated mechanism is guided parallel to the direction of displacement of the adjusting drive and comprises a bearing body to which the at least one sealing body is pivotably applied. The inventive shut-off device is characterized in that the bearing body comprises two diametrically opposed ribs and two corresponding grooves are formed in the wall of the housing or in an insert at least partially lining the housing, the ribs forming a span extending transversally to the direction of flow of the medium.12-03-2009

20090053734DETERMINATION OF AM-BINDING PROTEINS AND THE ASSOCIATION OF ADRENOMEDULLIN (AM) THEREWITH - The present invention provides methods for the isolation, identification, and purification of adrenomedullin (AM)-binding proteins. Also, provided are methods for utilizing the purified AM-binding proteins, or functional portions thereof, to diagnose, treat, and monitor AM-related diseases, for example, diseases or disorders associated with abnormally elevated AM levels. In addition, the present invention provides a newly identified complex between AM and a specific AM-binding protein 1 (AMBP-1); which has been isolated and identified herein as factor H (fH). The invention also provides AM/AMBP complexes, particularly AM/FH complexes, and antibodies specifically reactive with this complexes. Further provided are methods for identifying and purifying complexes of AM and an AM binding protein using anti-AM/fH antibodies, and methods for treating conditions such as cancer or diabetes utilizing compositions comprising these antibodies. The present invention additionally provides methods for identifying antagonists agents that inhibit the function of AM, factor H, or the AM/factor H complex. The invention also provides methods for treating conditions such as cancer or diabetes using these antagonist agents.02-26-2009
