20090121712Dynamic nuclear polarization enhanced nuclear magnetic resonance of water under ambient conditions - A method and apparatus are provided for treating hydrated material in a fluid that contains water in which a stable nitroxide is attached to the hydrated material. A dynamic nuclear polarization process (DNP) is conducted on the hydrated material whereby to hyperpolarize the water. A polarization cell contains the hydrated material to obtain hyperpolarized water free from the nitroxide. The dynamic nuclear polarization process is conducted using components comprising a tunable, solid state high power X-band driver and an X-band resonator for microwave transmission to the hydrated material. The components can also include a radio-frequency nuclear magnetic resonance probe, a permanent magnet formed to receive the hydrated material, a portable nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, and an electron spin resonance detector. The components can be sized to be portable, and include electrical input and output and a lap-size hard-case with access to the electrical input and output.05-14-2009

20090017872DISPLAY SYSTEM FOR PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICES WITH RELATED SUB-DISPLAYS - A display system for an electronic device includes a first sub-display and a second sub-display in signal communication with the first sub-display. The sub-displays together may display related information within a given category, such as time, weather, messages, etc. The display system also may include a navigation mechanism that permits the user to navigate through and select data items from at least one of the first or second sub-displays. In response to a data selection, at least one of the sub-displays alters its view such that the sub-displays together may display a new dataset of related information within the given category. The navigation mechanism also may be used to toggle through various additional categories of information. In an exemplary embodiment, the display system may be the external display of a clamshell mobile telephone in the closed position.01-15-2009

20080263016ACCESSIBLE SERVICE PROVIDER CLEARINGHOUSE - A service that maintains a minimum criteria level for service providers to be listed and available for public access. It can list not only the service provider's credentials and insurance support (with monitored expiration dates), but may also provide a current up-to-date rating system by the users themselves, as to the satisfaction level of the quality and reliability of the work performed. It can also offer a double-check of the credentials by customer verification input. Furthermore, the example service can be easily accessible by the general public (for individual or business use) on the Internet, or by printed text directories sold direct or in bookstores.10-23-2008

20120047161MANAGEMENT OF AN INVENTORY OF WEBSITES - A method includes receiving web page identifiers associated with a website and determining whether the web page identifiers identify redundant web pages of the website. One or more web page identifiers are removed from the web page identifiers that identify redundant web pages to create a group of web page identifiers. A user responsible for at least one of the web pages identified in the group of web page identifiers is determined. A risk level is determined for each of the web pages identified in the group based on a plurality of risk factors, the user is associated with the risk level, and the association between the user and the risk level is stored in a database.02-23-2012

20080248460Composition and method for modulating an inflammatory response - The invention relates to compositions and methods comprising lymphotoxin-beta receptor (LTβR) modulators, which activate or inhibit LTβR signaling. LTβR modulators are useful for treating lymphocyte mediated immunological diseases and cancer, and more particularly, for regulating mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis. This invention relates to soluble forms of the LTβR complex proteins that act as LTβR activating or inhibiting agents. This invention also relates to the use of soluble molecules, directed against either the LTβR, its ligands, LIGHT and LTβ1α2, or its intracellular binding partners, that function to regulate LTβR signaling. A novel screening method for selecting soluble receptors, antibodies and other agents that modulate LTβR signaling is provided.10-09-2008

20100170623Low cost dynamic insulated glazing unit - An insulated glazing unit has controllable radiation transmittance. Peripheries of first and second glazing panes are attached and spaced apart facing each other and then attached to a supporting structure. A conductive layer is atop the first glazing pane inner surface as a fixed position electrode. A dielectric is atop the conductive layer. A coiled spiral roll, variable position electrode is between the first and second glazing panes, a width of its outer edge attached to the dielectric. A first electrical lead is connected to the variable position electrode's conductive layer. A second electrical lead is connected to the conductive layer atop the first glazing pane. Applied voltage between the first and second electrical leads creates a predetermined potential difference between the electrodes, and the variable position electrode unwinds and rolls out to at least partially cover the first glazing pane, at least reducing the intensity of passing radiation.07-08-2010

20090198568System and Method for Modeling and Applying a People Network Representation - A system and method for applying a people network representation to aid contact between a member of an organization and a target individual selects a contact path between the member and the target supported by analysis of the level of interaction between members of the organization based on network communications of the organization. Level of interaction is analyzed using network communications that take into account the recentness and frequency of interactions, such as email, ICQ, or phone interaction. To contact a targeted individual, for instance such as to obtain expertise in a desired area, the model of the people network allows determination of a contact path between the member and target which improves the likelihood of obtaining the target's expertise. A contact path from a member may include a suggestion to contact the target through one or more intervening organization members.08-06-2009
