| 20100083795 | METHOD AND TOOL PRODUCT OF DIFFERENTIAL HEAT TREATMENT PROCESS - A tool having a relatively ductile working end for engaging workpieces and a relatively hard non-working portion for driving the tool is disclosed, and a process for making same. The tool is formed with the material in a first state, such as by cold-working, and then only the non-working portion is heat treated to a second state. The working end is thus maintained in the ductile state while the non-working portion is hardened, thus imparting different materials performance characteristics to working end and non-working portion. | 04-08-2010 |

| 20100015720 | Dynamic desalter simulator - A small-scale dynamic simulator for crude oil refinery desalters has a pressurized oil deviblis configured to hold a supply of crude oil and a water deviblis configured to hold a supply of wash water. At least one chemical feed pump selectively adds emulsion breaker chemicals to the desalter simulator and a low shear metering pump is configured to pump crude oil and wash water through the desalter simulator. An emulsion forming device forms a crude oil-wash water emulsion that is then received in a desalter vessel. The desalting vessel is fitted with electric grids which simulate those found in electric desalters. The emulsion is resolved within the desalter vessel with the assistance of the emulsion breaker chemicals so the wash water and crude oil form distinct phases, with substantially desalted crude oil removed from an upper portion of the desalter vessel and substantially oil-free wash water removed from a bottom portion of the desalter vessel. A portion of the desalter vessel is substantially transparent to allow visualization of the demulsification process and at least one light source is positioned adjacent to the desalter vessel to aid in visualization of a rag layer formed in the desalter vessel. A heated jacket surrounds the desalter vessel to maintain the desalter vessel at the desired temperature. | 01-21-2010 |

| 20100000178 | Methods of Joining and Joined Members Formed Thereby - Methods of joining members, forming molded portions with members, securing inserts with members, and joined members, such as for a frame or a frame for a fenestration unit, formed thereby, are disclosed. One embodiment of the method includes placing a first member with a first cavity in a joining position, placing a second member proximate the first cavity of the first member in the joining position, injecting a resin into the first cavity, allowing the resin to solidify at least partially to join the first member and second member to form a joined member, and removing the joined member from the joining position. Optionally, the joined member can be formed in a fixture, can include molded portions formed by the resin, and/or can include inserts held in place by the resin. Further, members without cavities can form a cavity that can receive the resin. | 01-07-2010 |

| 20100115770 | UNDERFILLING OF PRE-MOLDED COMPONENTS - A tubular lead component includes a sleeve having a lumen and one or more ports located on the sleeve including a bore extending through the sleeve and into the sleeve lumen. During assembly of a medical electrical lead, the tubular lead component is slid over the outer surface of the lead body to a desired location on the lead. The ends of the tubular lead body are sealed and a space is defined between the inner surface of the tubular lead component and the outer surface of the lead body. Medical adhesive is injected through the port(s) to substantially fill the space between the tubular component and the lead body. The adhesive is then cured. Any ports extending away from the sleeve are removed after the curing step. | 05-13-2010 |
