20110186611COMPONENT BACKPACK SYSTEM - A component backpack system is shown, which is a backpack from which can be created multiple backpacks. Such a backpack system can be scalable in different configurations in order to perform different tasks. This can include breaking down from one pack to form two or more independent backpacks, each with their own shoulder straps and waist belt systems. In a reverse form of component assembly, a number of backpacks of the invention can be combined to form a single backpack, thus consolidating or transferring the load from two people onto one person, or from 3 people onto two or one person.08-04-2011

20100025446BACKPACK WITH INCORPORATED GUN SCABBARD - A backpack and a method of forming a backpack with an integral gun scabbard has been devised whereby the user has a convenient place for the storage and carriage of a rifle, shotgun, or other long gun type of firearm, and simultaneously can store and carry a variety of other sundry cargo while moving about. The backpack is devised in such a way as to permit easy and rapid access to and retrieval of said firearm from the storage. It is equipped with dual padded shoulder straps. In an ideal embodiment, a waist belt is included to facilitate the stabilization of the scabbard when the firearm is being withdrawn, as well as to contribute to the load bearing functions of the backpack.02-04-2010

20090054005System for providing intermittent communication without compromising a sterile field - A system for providing intermittent communication while preserving a sterile area is provided. Sterility is preserved because the user can switch between transmitting and receiving mode without needing to touch a physical button, switch, or dial. The system is particularly valuable to doctors or dentists performing procedures. The system includes a two-way communication device coupled with a sensor, the sensor being capable of detecting the presence of an object, generally the user's hand or an instrumentality of the user, located closer than a predetermined distance from the sensor in a predetermined direction relative to the sensor. Upon such detection, the communication device is switched from receiving to tranmitting mode and remains in transmitting mode until a predetermined amount of time has elapsed since the object has ceased to be located within the predetermined distance in the predetermined direction of the sensor.02-26-2009

20100300544RAINWATER RECOVERY AND TREATMENT SYSTEM - Embodiments of the invention relate to systems and methods for the harvesting and treatment of rainwater for secondary use within buildings. Rainwater is harvested utilizing a rainwater capturing device and stored in a cistern prior to treatment until a demand for secondary use is made. The rainwater may be combined with reclaimed water from a water treatment plant. Once a demand for secondary use is made, the water is subjected to treatment as it travels to the point of use. Treatment includes neutralizing the pH of the rainwater, filtering the rainwater to remove particulate matter, irradiating the rainwater with ultraviolet light, and introducing a chlorine solution into the rainwater.12-02-2010

20100204742PATIENT CONTROLLED ATRIAL SHOCK THERAPY - An implanted cardiac device detects an atrial arrhythmia and provides periodically updated atrial arrhythmia status as long as the arrhythmia is ongoing. A patient may request an indication of ongoing atrial arrhythmia status from external to the patient using a patient activator. The patient activator may include a magnet for closing a reed switch in the implanted device to provide the request or may provide the request over a telemetry link to the implanted device. The implanted device may provide the requested atrial arrhythmia status and other information in the form of an audible tone produced by the implanted device or as a message telemetered from the implanted device to the patient activator. The patient activator may include a tone detector and display for providing a visual indication of the atrial arrhythmia status indication. The magnet activator may also be employed to request or withhold atrial shock therapy.08-12-2010

20120004567RHYTHM CORRELATION DIAGNOSTIC MEASUREMENT - An ambulatory medical device includes a cardiac activity sensing circuit and a processing circuit. The processing circuit includes a correlation circuit and a rhythm discrimination circuit. The correlation circuit generates an indication of correlation between each of at least a portion of the cardiac depolarizations and a stored template representative of a normal sinus rhythm. The rhythm discrimination circuit is configured to compare the indications of correlation to a specified correlation threshold value, classify the information representative of cardiac activity as a specific cardiac rhythm using the comparison, and identify at least one indication of correlation that determines the classification. The processing circuit provides the identified indication of correlation to a user or process.01-05-2012

20080302758Container base - A one-piece plastic container includes a body defining a longitudinal axis and having an upper portion, a sidewall portion and a base portion. The base portion defines a plurality of feet extending therearound. The base portion defines a contact diameter ratio of approximately 70-74% and a contact length ratio of approximately 20-23% for a plastic container having a volume capacity of approximately one (1) liter (1000 cc). According to additional features, the one-piece plastic container can have a nub defined on the base portion. For a one-piece plastic container having a volume capacity of approximately one (1) liter (1000 cc), the nub has a diameter of approximately 3-7 mm (0.12-0.28 inch), the base portion defines a contact area ratio of approximately 23-25%, and each foot defines corner transition portions each having a fillet radius of approximately 4-10 mm (0.16-0.39 inch).12-11-2008
20080314856Container thread design - The present disclosure provides a container and a method of making a container. In one example, the container includes a body having an upper portion, a sidewall portion and a base portion. The upper portion includes a blown finish defining a longitudinal axis and an opening into the container. A tamper evident (TE) band is formed on the finish and defines a first diameter at an outermost surface. The TE band defines at least two disconnected radial protrusions. At least one thread is formed on the finish. The at least one thread defines a second diameter at an outermost surface. The first diameter is greater than the second diameter. The TE band defines a gap between each respective disconnected radial protrusion. Each thread defines a thread start portion and a thread run-out portion. A line parallel to the longitudinal axis extends through the thread run-out portion and the gap.12-25-2008
20110135778LIQUID OR HYDRAULIC BLOW MOLDING - An apparatus and method for simultaneously forming and filling a plastic container is provided. A mold cavity defines an internal surface and is adapted to accept a preform. A pressure source is a servo motor system that includes an inlet. The servo motor system is operable to draw liquid through the inlet and urged it into the preform. A blow nozzle may be adapted to receive the liquid from the pressure source and transfer the liquid at high pressure into the preform thereby urging the preform to expand toward the internal surface of the mold cavity and create a resultant container. The liquid remains within the container as an end product.06-09-2011
