20110300506Endodontic File With Working Length Adjustment Scale - An endodontic file is provided for use during root canal therapy. The endodontic file has a handle, a blade, and a marker. The marker provides a working length adjustment scale that is integrated with the handle and the blade. After adjustment of the endodontic file to a desired working length, compared to the depth of a subject root canal, the marker is maintained in a substantially static position relative to the blade, which is itself stationary relative to the handle. The endodontic file reduces the chances of unintended complications during root canal therapy, for example if the blade were to penetrate into various tissues located in proximity to the root canal.12-08-2011

20110002538METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GRAPHICAL DATA COMPRESSION - A system comprising a first computer and a second computer remotely located from the first computer and in communication with the first computer via a network. The second computer comprises an encoder module which encodes and transmits a pixel color datum to the first computer. The encoder module encodes the pixel color datum by generating a bit indicative of the number of different pixel color data encoded since a datum having a same color as the pixel color datum was last encoded.01-06-2011

20110019593METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SELECTING BETWEEN AN AD-HOC CONFERENCE MODE AND AN INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORTED CONFERENCE MODE - Devices that are enabled to communicate with each other via an ad hoc conference mode and an infrastructure supported conference mode, are provided with processing capabilities that can allow them to evaluate one or more resources required to support an ad hoc conference communication session and/or one or more quality metrics associated with the ad hoc conference communication session, and determine whether one or more resources or metrics are outside optimal operating parameters. If so, the processing logic can initiate a transition from the ad hoc conference communication session to an infrastructure supported conference communication session hosted at a conference server. This way, the devices can drop the ad hoc conference communication session when one or more of the resources or metrics are outside optimal operating parameters, so that one of the devices does not need to mix communication information streams (CISs) from the devices, generate a plurality of conferenced communication information streams (CCISs), and transmit a unique one of the conferenced communication information streams (CCISs) to the other devices.01-27-2011

20100143040Hazardous Material Storage and Leak Mitigation System - A self-contained storage system for hazardous materials includes a containment envelope enclosing a storage tank containing hazardous materials and forming a containment space between the storage tank and containment envelope. Leaked material is detected by one or more sensors in the containment space and, depending on the concentration or time rate of change in concentration of the leaked material, alarms and corresponding mitigation measures are reversibly activated to remove leaked material from the containment space.06-10-2010

20110130551Lipid Extraction From Microalgae Using A Single Ionic Liquid - A one-step process for the lysis of microalgae cell walls and separation of the cellular lipids for use in biofuel production by utilizing a hydrophilic ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium. The hydrophilic ionic liquid both lyses the microalgae cell walls and forms two immiscible layers, one of which consists of the lipid contents of the lysed cells. After mixture of the hydrophilic ionic liquid with a suspension of microalgae cells, gravity causes a hydrophobic lipid phase to move to a top phase where it is removed from the mixture and purified. The hydrophilic ionic liquid is recycled to lyse new microalgae suspensions.06-02-2011

20090285973METHOD OF CUTTING HAM AND PRODUCT THEREOF - A ham product and method for production thereof described herein separate bone-in hams into smaller pieces. Accordingly, pieces of bone-in ham, even those spirally-sliced, will be available to consumers in smaller portions. Unlike conventional methods, however, the ham product provides three or four pieces of essentially equal size that each have a nearly equal meat-to-bone ratio. Furthermore, when a spiral cut ham is separated into pieces, each piece includes a portion of the femur and retains attachment of the slices to the femur so that the slices stay intact during handling and packaging and so that the pieces retain the natural shape and easy handling desired by consumers.11-19-2009

20080306815Method and system for inserting targeted data in available spaces of a webpage - Various techniques for placing targeted data in a webpage requested by a user are disclosed. A presentation of the data when the webpage is displayed draws attention from the user. Examples of the data may include, but not be limited to advertisements, various alerts and notifications. In one embodiment, some of the techniques, when properly combined, can provide a mechanism to locate available spaces in a webpage and place targeted advertisements therein by embedding scripts into data packets received from the website being visited. The data packets are modified in a network device deployed at a traffic concentration point along a network, where the network device operates transparently to both the website and the user, regardless there is a need to modify existing data packets or fabricate new data packets.12-11-2008
