Selective heavy gas oil recycle for optimal integration of heavy oil conversion and vacuum gas oil treating - An improved process for heavy oil conversion and upgrading and a combined method for heavy oil conversion and vacuum gas-oil treatment are described herein. The method utilizes the creation and recycle of a separate product from the vacuum still, which is thereafter recycled back to the heavy oil conversion reactor. The result is the production of a higher quality medium gas oil product relative to the overall vacuum gas oil product which is acceptable for use in a typical vacuum gas oil treatment process. Additionally, there is a higher diesel yield selectivity from the heavy oil conversion unit. | 11-26-2009
Process for multistage residue hydroconversion integrated with staight-run and conversion gasoils hydroconversion steps - This invention relates to a novel integrated hydroconversion process for converting heavy atmospheric or vacuum residue feeds and also converting and reducing impurities in the vacuum gas oil liquid product. This is accomplished by utilizing two residue hydroconversion reaction stages, two vapor-liquid separators, and at least two additional distillate ebullated-bed hydrocracking/hydrotreating reaction stages to provide a high conversion rate of the residue feedstocks. | 11-26-2009

Process for upgrading coal pyrolysis oils - This invention utilizes a novel method and set of operating conditions to efficiently and economically process a potentially very fouling hydrocarbon feedstock. A multi-stage catalytic process for the upgrading of coal pyrolysis oils is developed. Coal Pyrolysis Oils are highly aromatic, olefinic, unstable, contain objectionable sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen contaminants, and,may contain coal solids which will plug fixed-bed reactors. The pyrolysis oil is fed with hydrogen to a multi-stage ebullated-bed hydrotreater and hydrocracker containing a hydrogenation or hydrocracking catalyst to first stabilize the feed at low temperature and is then fed to downstream reactor(s) at higher temperatures to further treat and hydrocrack the pyrolysis oils to a more valuable syncrude or to finished distillate products. The relatively high heat of reaction is used to provide the energy necessary to increase the temperature of the subsequent stage thus eliminating the need for additional external heat input. A refined heavy oil product stream is recycled to the fresh feed to minimize feedstock fouling of heat exchangers and feed heaters. | 06-17-2010
Process And Installation For Conversion Of Heavy Petroleum Fractions In A Boiling Bed With Integrated Production Of Middle Distillates With A Very Low Sulfur Content - Disclosed are a process and an installation for treatment of a heavy petroleum feedstock, of which at least 80% by weight has a boiling point of greater than 340° C., wherein the process includes | 07-01-2010
Direct coal liquefaction with integrated product hydrotreating and catalyst cascading - A multi-stage catalytic process for the direct liquefaction of coal is utilized with a hydrotreater to first liquefy and subsequently treat the product in one integrated process. A fresh hydrogenation catalyst is used to reduce heteroatoms (S, N) from coal liquids in the downstream hydrotreater. This catalyst is then cascaded and re-used in the direct coal liquefaction process, first in the low temperature Stage 1, and then re-used in the high temperature Stage 2. Coal liquid products have very low contaminants and can be readily used to produce gasoline and diesel fuel. Catalyst requirements are substantially lowered utilizing this novel process. | 02-24-2011

Conference Bridge Audio Quality Diagnostic and Self Configuration System and Method - A conference diagnosis system can correlate information about a current teleconference with information about past conferences to make an intelligent assessment as to the potential cause of a poor audio or other condition. A conference bridge conducting the conference can then change various configuration settings on the conference bridge to resolve the problem. A running average of the results of past adjustments can be measured and direct future configuration changes. Thus, past successful adjustments can provide a starting point for changes to a new conference and real-time digital signal processing (DSP) adjustments can help tailor changes to the specific conference. | 04-05-2012

Codec-driven touch screen video conferencing control system - A CODEC-driven touch screen video conferencing control system provides a touch screen entry and display device that interfaces with the CODEC of the existing video conferencing system so that remote operation is compatible with the pre-programming of the video conferencing system. A computer with video capture device captures the output video of the video conferencing CODEC and transmits it to the touch screen so that what is displayed on the touch screen is all of the controls for the video conferencing system as pre-programmed by the video conferencing system manufacturer. There is no requirement to employ a cursor on the video conferencing monitor screen. In fact, through use of the present invention, none of the control functions of the video conferencing system appear on its monitor screens. Rather, those functions are solely displayed on the touch screen of the remote control device. | 01-22-2009
