20080268439ASSAY SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING MOLECULES THAT INTERACT WITH SK2 CHANNELS - The invention provides methods including steps of: providing cells capable of expressing SK2; contacting the cells with a test molecule; obtaining information indicative of cellular SK2 expression to obtain an SK2 Expression Value; comparing the SK2 Expression Value with a control SK2 Expression Value; and identifying a test molecule that causes the cells to display an SK2 Expression Value that is different from the control SK2 Expression Value. Also provided are methods including steps of: providing a sample comprising an SK2 channel; contacting the sample with a test molecule; obtaining information indicative of SK2 channel activity in the sample to obtain an SK2 Channel Activity Value; comparing the SK2 Channel Activity Value with a control Channel Activity Value; and identifying a test molecule that causes the SK2 Channel Activity Value to be different from the control Channel Activity Value. Methods of identifying a molecule useful for treating neuropathic pain are also described.10-30-2008

20110218878MANAGING TRANSACTIONS OF BROKER AFFILIATES - A distributed network transaction system and method includes a central exchange computer connected via the Internet (world wide web) to multiple remote computers associated with, for example, individual brokers. A central database is provided with the exchange computer and each remote computer can have a respective database for information that the individual brokers was to maintain separate from the system. E-commerce transactions are conducted by the system, which performs a number of transaction-related functions, such as pushing tickets up to the system for sale, purchasing tickets online, shipping, web site-related and bookkeeping. The system and methodology accommodate price event functions where non real-time tickets can be sold and the orders filled with tickets acquired on the system.09-08-2011

20110243260Correlation Prevention Methods for Satellite Adaptive Cancellation Links - A method of reducing signal correlation in a symmetrical adaptive canceller link comprising spectrally inverting one of a first carrier signal and a second carrier signal by causing a spectral inversion of one of the first and second carrier signals using a modulator, transmitting the first and second carrier signals within a bandwidth to a remote receiver using a transmitting device such that a composite carrier signal results, and cancelling at least one of the first carrier signal from the composite carrier signal using a cancellation technique such that the second carrier signal results on one end of the link and the second carrier signal from the composite carrier signal using a cancellation technique such that the first carrier signal results on the opposite end of the link.10-06-2011

20100106255SELF-EXPANDING FRONTAL SINUS STENT AND INSERTION TOOL - A self-expanding stent for use in maintaining patency of the frontal sinus drainage pathway and for the management of the frontal sinus postoperatively. The self-expanding frontal sinus stent helps maintain the pathway connecting the frontal sinus cavity open by filling this space and preventing restenosis of the frontal sinus drainage pathway following sinus surgery. The self-expanding stent may include a medical grade, flexible plastic material having with one or more recoil mechanisms having a memory to self expand. The self-expanding stent is compliant meaning that it may expand to the actual size of the space into which it is placed. The self-expanding stent may also be self-retaining. An insertion tool having the appropriate angulation and malleability may be used for ease of insertion of the self-expanding stent endoscopically into the frontal sinus. The use of a self-expanding frontal sinus stent and insertion tool for ease of insertion leads to less trauma for the patient and better surgical outcomes.04-29-2010

20110058182PROBE FOR DETERMINING AN ABSOLUTE POSITION OF A ROD OF A CYLINDER - A probe for determining an absolute position of a rod relative to a cylinder with the rod having an associated pattern for indicating position includes a light source for emitting light. The probe further includes a light pipe for directing light emitted by the light source onto the pattern of the rod. A detector of the probe detects light and provides a signal indicative of the detected light. A lens produces an image of a portion of the pattern illuminated by the light on the detector and a controller is responsive to the signal from the detector for determining an absolute position of the rod relative to the cylinder.03-10-2011
