20110063042TUNABLE MICROWAVE DEVICES WITH AUTO-ADJUSTING MATCHING CIRCUIT - An embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus, comprising an input port and a dynamic impedance matching network capable of determining a mismatch at the input port and dynamically changing the RF match by using at least one matching element that includes at least one voltage tunable dielectric capacitor. The matching network may be a “Pi”, a “T”, or “ladder” type network and the apparatus may further comprise at least one directional coupler capable of signal collection by sampling a portion of an incident signal, a reflected signal or both. In an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus may also include a control and power control & logic unit (PC LU) to convert input analog signals into digital signals and sensing VSWR phase and magnitude and processing the digital signals using an algorithm to give it a voltage value and wherein the voltage values may be compared to values coming from the coupler and once compared and matched, the values may be passed to a Hi Voltage Application Specific Integrated Circuit (HV ASIC) to transfer and distribute compensatory voltages to the matching network elements. Additional embodiments are disclosed.03-17-2011

20090067670METHODS AND PROCESSES FOR DETECTING A MARK ON A PLAYING SURFACE AND FOR TRACKING AN OBJECT - Systems and methods for detecting a mark left by an object on a playing surface are provided. A system for detecting a mark left by an impact of an object on a playing surface, the system including at least one processor coupled to a memory arrangement. The system may further include at least one camera for collecting a sequence of images of the playing surface before and after impact of an object. Additionally, the system may include an image processing system adapted to process at least a portion of the sequence of images to identify the mark left by the object on the playing surface. The system may also include a judgment processing system operative to determine the position of the mark relative to the feature of the playing surface.03-12-2009

20080204967Apparatus and method capable of a high fundamental acoustic resonance frequency and a wide resonance-free frequency range - An embodiment of the present invention provides a method of modeling electrostrictive effects and acoustic resonances in a tunable capacitor, comprising adjusting empirically the characteristic impedances and complex propagation constants to account for actual process variations in manufacturing of said tunable capacitor; adjusting empirically the characteristic impedances and complex propagation constants to account for end-effects in the directions transversal to the wave direction; and modeling the electrostrictive effect by dividing a BST layer of said tunable capacitor into thin layers or slices with each slice's thickness representing a small fraction of an acoustic wavelength and injecting at each junction between slices, an acoustic “current” proportional to the electrical current through said voltage tunable capacitor.08-28-2008

20090231542BIFOCAL CONTACT LENS - A contact lens having near vision and distance vision portions, the lens being movable on the eye between first and second positions, those positions corresponding with aligning the wearer's vision through the near vision and distance vision portions respectively. The lens is positionally stable on the eye in each of the two positions, and requires a force to be applied to the lens to move between the first and second positions. Preferably the lens has a back surface and a front surface, and said back surface has either one or two major back curve zones occupying a major portion of the lens back surface.09-17-2009

20080270972METHODS FOR TYPE ANALYSIS IN SYSTEMS FOR CODE GENERATION - A method for identifying a structure of a type to generate a model of the type includes the step of providing at least one replacement type for a basic type provided by a programming language. An identification of initialization, by a constructor, of an instance of the at least one replacement type is received. A type model comprising a description of a data layout of the instance of the type is generated responsive to the received identification.10-30-2008
20080270979METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR USING TYPE MODELS TO GENERATE AN IMPLEMENTATION OF A TYPE - A method for using type analysis to generate an implementation of a type includes the step of identifying a request to generate a first implementation of a type. A type model associated with the type is received. A second implementation of the type model is identified as suitable for a high-performance implementation. The second implementation is generated on a target processor. The second implementation is represented as the first implementation.10-30-2008
20090018993METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR OPTIMIZING DATA ACCESSES - A method for optimizing data types includes the step of generating a data structure providing access to at least one data element, the data structure associated with a first representation of the at least one data element. A user is provided with a plurality of data types for accessing the at least one data element. A request for access to the at least one data element is received, the request including at least one of the plurality of data types. The request is responded to with a second representation of the at least one data element, the second representation generated responsive to the at least one of the plurality of data types.01-15-2009
